Submission GuidelinesHello all,
This may be a little controversial. As of today, when you buy an Alteryx Server, the basic package covers up to 4 cores :
https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Server-Knowledge-Base/How-Alteryx-defines-cores-for-licensing-our-products/ta-p/158030
I have always known that. But these last years, the technology, the world has evolved. Especially the number of cores in a server. As an example, AMD Epyc CPU for server begin at 8 cores :
https://www.amd.com/en/processors/epyc-7002-series
So the idea is to update the number of cores in initial package for 8 or even 16 cores. It would :
-make Alteryx more competitive
-cost only very few money
-end some user frustration
Moreover, Alteryx Server Additional Capacity license should be 4 cores.
Best regards,
Simon
When using In-DB with iSeries over Generic ODBC everything works fine in Designer however when executing via Gallery process fails because a semi-colon ";" is added to the SQL statement as a terminator character and iSeries rejects this SQL0104 - Token ; was not valid. Valid Values < END OF STATEMENT >
We have a MongoDB connection string that we plug in to RuntimeSettings.xml during install. Upon startup, the Mongo connection fails because RuntimeSettings.xml expects the connecting string to be encrypted. The fix for this, is for someone to manually update the MongoDB connection via the Alteryx UI. We would like a way to encrypt the MongoDB connection string for RuntimeSettings.xml before we start Alteryx for the first time.
Hi Alteryx Team,
I understand that the Timeout feature on all Workers is only available for the workflows scheduled on Alteryx Server.
In a heavily used server environment and depending on how workflows are configured, can we have a timeout feature available for non-scheduled workflows (adhoc workflow runs/manually triggered workflow runs) as well on all the Workers on Alteryx Server ?
Thank You,
Nishi Jain
Have the Alteryx Server send a notification when the license is within a configurable amount of days to being expired via SMTP
Hi Alteryx experts!
There were some ideas similar to this one but none like it and really really old ones, so I`m revamping the idea due to recent struggles and the many questions we got on the server discussion board!
Workflow events are nice and helpful but they require the user to add it to every single workflow.
The Gallery admin also struggles to know when a schedule fails.
There was the Server Usage Report before, but now most server admins have no idea when a schedule fails.
There are many ways of managing schedules and failed jobs (MongoDB, logs, events), but it would be nice to add a simple option to notify a user on each schedule. It would be even better if we added another option to enable this option in all schedules globally!
This idea could be combined with this one from @fjablo
Let me know what you all think!
Best,
Fernando Vizcaino
The current Enterprise Utility Workflow does not have a match/look-up in place between the two environments for user ID's. Thus, the migration workflow doesn't work without adding in a couple extra API calls. When we upgrade to a new version of the utility, I have to add this back in.
It would be nice if the workflow would come with this already configured.
When there is an app that has multiple tabs across the top but can extend down below the page, the user will scroll down to complete the boxes and click the 'Next' button at the bottom.
This takes the user to the next tab but remains at the bottom of the page.
It would be very useful for this 'Next' button to jump back to the top of the page.
Hello! We just upgraded to 23.2, and I see in v3 an endpoint to start a job (v3/workflows/{id}/jobs) and then another to get that job's status (v3/jobs/{jobID}). Compared to v1, I think the outputs endpoint is missing (v1/jobs/{jobID}/output/{outputID}). I'd love for this to be added so we can upgrade from v1 to v3.
I want to let my artisans choose the collaboration option when sharing dcm sources. Currently they'd have to be promoted to curators to do this.
Results page keeps defaulting back to 50.
I would like that each user for the gallery can default his own amount of records show on the gallery ui .
At the moment i go in a set it to 100 but as soon as the gallery completes a job it then defaults back to 50. i want to be able to go into settings and have a function that says default view and it remembers that every time i open the gallery.
Currently the Gallery loads all of the workflows before displaying objects on screen. As our collection has grown this makes the Gallery painfully slow to load. It would be more efficient to load 10 workflows and get the rest with the next screen arrow.
I think it would be nice to have a user-defined name for events in the Workflow - Configuration - Events tab. You can see in my image that the default view is not super helpful. It would be nice to label the steps so a user can edit more easily.
It would also be nice to more easily disable or disable these items - a batch select to enable for instance.
Right now, there's no easy way to see everything that is running across all your workflows. It forces you to live on the "Schedules" tab. It would be create if it saved how I've sorted my columns and the "rows per page" setting.
Basically I have to hit those buttons every time I click into the schedule. And I need to click into the schedule 4-5 times to see where we are in the backlog.
On the Job page, in addition to seeing the worker tag that a job is running on, it would be great to see which server the job is running on to ensure the work is being spread out and look for bottle necks. We have a group on servers broken down into Small , Medium and large with several servers in each group. Looking at the current screen, you can not tell what server a job is running on within the group. Example, 'Large' has 3 servers with 4 jobs running on it. But you can not identify which server the job is running on.
I would like to be able to suspend scheduled jobs - those that are queued to run.
The only option currently is just to delete them.
I want to be able to 'put them on hold' then release them as and when is convenient. Once you release them, they just go back in to the queue or run if there is a free scheduling slot.
I develop workflows or analytical apps in the Designer and save them in a Gallery. If I need the setting "Always run this workflow with these credentials", I have to type in my username and password every single time I want to save it, even in the same Designer session. This is very annoying and results in saving the workflows much more seldom than I would do if I did not have to type in the credentials every single time.
My idea is to cache the credentials (login name and password) for one Designer session. It would be perfect if it was for the entire Designer session for multiple files. But even if it was specific to the opened file it would help.
Result would be:
when using the blob input for excel, server will output the input file in the output preview section.
please add an option to exclude it from output or remove this function.
Server
run log
workflow
only 1 tool in the workflow. blob input tool.
server version: 2021.4
The main user profile icon has centralised text. However, for Owner icons under collections the text is top align and does not look as clean. It would be nice if these were consistent and centralised.
The Swagger page looks completely different to Alteryx Server, and essentially looks like a suspicious webpage to users clicking on. It would be preferable if this was uplifted to be Alteryx branded.
The help icon contains hardcoded links to information standard users do not need to be aware of and so it would be preferable if admins can select items that could be hidden. In our use case, the only one I would like to keep active is Community.
