Submission GuidelinesHello all,
This may be a little controversial. As of today, when you buy an Alteryx Server, the basic package covers up to 4 cores :
https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Server-Knowledge-Base/How-Alteryx-defines-cores-for-licensing-our-products/ta-p/158030
I have always known that. But these last years, the technology, the world has evolved. Especially the number of cores in a server. As an example, AMD Epyc CPU for server begin at 8 cores :
https://www.amd.com/en/processors/epyc-7002-series
So the idea is to update the number of cores in initial package for 8 or even 16 cores. It would :
-make Alteryx more competitive
-cost only very few money
-end some user frustration
Moreover, Alteryx Server Additional Capacity license should be 4 cores.
Best regards,
Simon
Sometimes, a workflow posted to the Server is calling from a source data that has dimensions which are specific to certain users based on departments, divisions, countries, regions, states, or etc. depending on the level of granularity.
Although Alteryx developers can create Analytical Apps that have the option for end users to select these dimensions, a more seamless experience for end users (and better for security as well) is to have the ability to configure such filters for existing users on the Alteryx Server itself.
So, if Person A belongs to State 1 and Person B belongs to State 2, by default when both Person A & B enter the Server to that specific workflow in a collection or district, they will automatically be filtered for State 1 and 2 respectively.
This is similar to Section Access configuration - whereby users have already been pre-filtered the moment they enter.
The current workaround is to create multiple workflows and store them in different collections or districts specific to end users, and to make any changes will require a change to the workflow itself.
It will be great to have a dashboard that allows for Alteryx Server admins to configure on their own without hassle.
Currently SAML configuration can only pass First Name, Last Name & Email Address. It would be useful if additional attributes could be configured, such as group information. This would link to another enhancement that is automatically linking new users to a given collection based on this additional attribute.
Currently pages you add to server when opened via the link icon open in a new window. If you are using SSO authentication, such as SAML this essentially logs the user out in that window. This is not a good user experience.
Ideally there should be an configurable option to open pages within the current window, thereby maintaining login and provided a better navigation experience.
In an enterprise multi-node Alteryx Server deployment that has existed for many years and many upgrades, there are artifacts within the MongoDB that are unknown to Gallery Administrators. I envision a workflow or app that is developed by Alteryx that queries the MongoDB and looks for orphaned documents in the MongoDB across all collections. With 2022.3 there is a pre-upgrade check, however, it does not find all unexpected items within the MongoDB. Regular ongoing MongoDB health helps with overall management of the environment and could prompt for support cases before it becomes a problem during pre-upgrade activities.
When a user saves an APP and that APP contains macros with embedded macros (2 to N layers deep). Make package with ALL subroutine/macros included an option. This is a PAIN for users to try to manage otherwise.

A maintenance mode would not be luxury, so that the worker does not take any more new job and finishes those which it has in progress. to be able to stop this one more easily.
Idea: Option to receive an email notification when a schedule gets disabled (could be added in the user settings, see attached picture)
Business Impact: The implementation of this idea would reduce delays that might even have a financial impact because
not receiving any notifications when a schedule was disabled could lead to
I would be glad if you could implement this idea because I think it would be useful for a lot of people!
Currently, DCM credentials appear to only be used in combination with a DCM Data Source.
For ease of use for my end users (non-Designers), I would like my end users to be able to save a user ID and password as a standalone DCM credential. Then, I want the user to have the option to select that credential for use in two places:
Having this functionality would remove administrative burden from both our Designers and the end users they support.
Hi folks
There are quite a few very useful Alteryx items I have been using recently that I have found on the help pages / public gallery. However, when I searched for them, I didn't quite use the correct search terms so this took longer than I had hoped and I was on a tight deadline. An example is the "Server Pre-Upgrade Checks" workflow used during Server upgrades.
My idea is to put these utilities in the Download portal in the same way that the Server Usage Report is.
Of course, there should be a limit as to what goes in there but, like the Server Usage Report can be done on a case-by-case basis.
Cheer, jonna
I would like to see some functionality in the Alteryx Gallery in which you can select multiple schedule workflows to disable/enable. Currently as an admin if I have many schedules I need to enable/disable I need to go into each schedule manually to disable or enable. This is okay for one or two, but I have about 20-30, it is very time consuming. I would like to see maybe some checkbox functionality next to the workflow to select and then an option to either disable all selected or enable all selected.
I have inherited admin duties, and have been running to many problems. Some of which will escalate when the subscriptions go away.
The pages desperately need to be updated for a more streamlined admin experience.
Couple examples I came up with below.
Naming Convention
API Access
User Page
Collection Page
Designer "save" window.

Hello!
Currently when administrating the Alteryx Server, within the 'users' page, I can see that new users will be setup as 'default'.
This will display as 'default', which can be confusing, as I need to navigate to the configuration page to remind myself what the default role is. Additionally, they may be part of a group, either in AD or within the server, that upgrades their default rank, for instance if they are part of a group set to be curators. They will still always display as 'default'.
I would like to suggest the following:
This would allow me to see much more clearly who is set as what rank on the Server, but also which users are set to different ranks as part of an AD group.
Hello!
Currently one of the pain points when looking at integrating Alteryx Server into an organisation, is the role of a Curator, and who should be given that role. Of course, from an IT perspective, they want governance and control over data connections, users, and configuration - as it is important that users aren't simply able to change the default role to Curator and give all users access to the Administration portal, for instance. On the other hand, a Super User is typically given Curator access to allow for adjustments to all other sections of the Administrator Portal, that IT quite frankly don't care about.
What would be useful, is for a new role to be created, elevated from Curator. Let's call them 'Super Curator'. These 'Super Curators' (or, User-Curators, for a less exciting name) have access to all of the Admin portal as usual. 'Curators', would now only have access to the following (Highlighted yellow for Curator access):
This would aid the conversation from an IT perspective, allowing them to take control of user, data connection, and credential administration, whilst leaving the rest of the control to the other Curators. As this wouldn't always be a requirement, it would be useful to allow for a toggle of this setting within the Configuration on the Gallery. This would also not effect pre-existing setups of curators, as in the update of implementation, all current Curators should be adapted into 'Super Curators'.
Thanks,
TheOC
Hello,
In our environment, we decided to do not use the Data Connexion from the Gallery for internal security reason.
Then we use the internal Designer in the Server to create (IT Teams) all the BDD Connexions for our workflows (In Memory and In DB).
Our Curators (not in IT Teams) has only access to the Gallery and not directly to a Server but it's responsible of these conenxions.
I checked all the API and we cannot retrieve the list of our "In DB" Connexions.
Is possible to have a new API to list all these connexions or to have an update of the existing API /admin/v1/systemdataconnections ?
Thanks !
Currently Alteryx has a timeout setting at a worker level which applies to all of the workflows/schedules that run on that node.
It'd be great and very useful is that setting is made available at a granular level like at the Collection/User Group or workflow level.
I've been told by Alteryx support that this is not a feature that is currently available. Hence proposing an Idea on the community requesting for such an ability!
Currently, only users themselves are able to setup the default worker tag in their My Profile page. To ensure efficient management of worker nodes, Server Admins or Curators should be allowed to set the default worker tags of gallery users, preferably in bulk. This will help avoid workflows to be executed using the wrong worker node.
In the User record you can get the subscription ID, but it doesn't show the Subscription Name and doesn't provide a link to the subscription which would be helpful (and seems pretty simple to implement).
I know subscriptions are going away, but until they do please make working with what we have easier. Thanks!
There is a typo under the Help area for the Default Gallery Administrator (System Settings). It should be a backslash, not forward slash there. Correct is: domain\username
I think for business purposes it would be great to be able to update the apply for an exemption page that displays when you have a flow that is blocked in safe mode so you could provide accurate documentation to your users about their companies go through an approval process and allowing you to link out to external sites like JIRA to submit a ticket
