We noticed that the Alteryx sessions are tab oriented and not browser oriented. When opening a new tab the user is compeled to sign in again. We would like to have an option to make the sessions more browser oriented like a "keep me signed". Ex: - Opening a new tab - Going to the gallery through a published app link
This is a really important feature for a better user experience, the fact that emails sent by the Gallery itself, fail to work is not nice at all, it's in the frontier of idea and bug.
On the Gallery session, it just doesn't make sense to request a relogin after 10 seconds, only because you opened a new tab... agree... you end up getting several tabs for nothing.
This would be great, since currently my users need to copy and paste the link a second time into the browser window to get directed to the specific folder of the analytical apps.
We appreciate all the insight we get on how we can improve our user experience in the gallery and product as a whole. It looks like you're relatively new to the idea boards (welcome!) so if you haven't yet be sure to check out our Submission Guidelines as it both goes over what we are looking for in an idea as well as next steps after an idea has been posted!
Our product team is currently reviewing is feature as part of a larger initiative to better manage sessions in general. This review may take some time however we'll do our best to keep this idea updated when and if we determine the best method of completing this feature idea.
Our product team has reviewed this idea, and can understand the value to our users. At this time we are unable to include this idea in our near future roadmap due to competing priorities and some security concerns; as such we're updating it to Not Planned. However, should this change or we become able to return to this idea in the future we'll be sure to update this status.
Hi, we don't publish security issues, as you can imagine. This idea was being evaluated as part of a larger initiative to better manage sessions in general, as Kylie indicated, and was not put on the roadmap. I know you're frustrated, and we thank you for your patience while we figure out the best possible solution for our users.
