A new idea to suggest a new community feature or improvement
Hey wanted to see what people's interest would be for a certification around the intelligence suite?
Hello,
We don't have any place to post idea about the cloud products. Since it's clearly new products, isn't it relevant to ask your users about what they need?
Best regards,
Simon
Hi all!
This idea stems from my team's need to have Alteryx materials on hand. We have a repository internally built to store all Alteryx related presentations and materials, but it would be great to have it available to Community members if it comes directly from Alteryx.
For example:
Thanks!
I am M&A Analytics Leader, managing a team of analytics professionals in India.
I am always interested in hiring the best analytics professionals, with skill set in Alteryx and M&A.
I think if Alteryx starts a Job Board, where prospective hiring managers can post relevant jobs, this will be really appreciated by our community.
LinkedIn saw big engagement spike once they integrated Job Board into their website. I think Alteryx community can also take benefit in a similar way.
As of now, we do have job board in SparkED section. But I am asking for a separate section altogether - something on the face of the community - just like LinkedIn.
Thanks,
Hammad
Hello,
A little recognition for the users who have the most contributed to implemented ideas. We can imagine a badge for 1, 5,.... 1000 ideas implemented on the model of likes/ solved, etc.
Best regards,
Simon
Just a few years ago I saw the Alteryx Server Certification Exam.
However now it is not possible to test the Server skills.
Please give an Alteryx Server Certification Exam.
Hi!
I noticed recently that the majority of open Community ideas were newly labelled 'Accepting Votes', for instance my idea:
I have to guess that 'accepting votes' is based on the likes on the idea, however this is unclear, and there are numerous statuses that could use clarifying:
For instance, is there a difference between 'Accepted', 'Ongoing' and 'Coming Soon'?
What I suggest is a quick stickied post at the top of the ideas, to explain the ideas section to a new user. What each of the labels are, how to submit an idea, and what to include, with a new idea post. This would display as:
(Positioning could be changed)
Kind Regards,

Hi all
Just a quick suggestion from me regarding the Gallery on Community, it would be great if when adding a tool to the community, we can label them as 'Base A'. Of course, this relies on a level of trust from users to tag their workflows, however, for many users, it can be more reassuring, or useful from a learning perspective to be able to know which tools only contain Alteryx-based tools.
My idea is that this is just an additional label in the uploading of a tool/workflow process, as seen below (spoofed with inspect element):
Kind Regards,

Hey everyone,
When we have an event coming up, you can confirm your attendance, which is very useful in my opinion. The issue with the "no" and "maybe" buttons is that I don't see the point in having them.
To be honest, I believe that using these options can leave a negative impression on others. The ideal, in my opinion, is to keep only the "Yes" button.
I often access the Alteryx community on-the-go and find myself using the forums quite a lot on mobile. There have been several instances where I have replied to a post and then needed to edit this afterwards. Without waiting to get to my laptop, I have so far found that the only option I have is to post another reply correcting my original post. Unless I'm missing something, I can't seem to find any functionality to simply 'edit' posts on mobile and from a search of existing posts/ideas, I can't find anything else requesting this. Apologies in advance if I have simply missed something here!
Thanks,
Nathan
I've noticed that a fair few community members who have a standard sign off on most of there posts, usually consisting of contact and business details. It would be nice UX feature to be able to set a default sign off/signatures to replies and posts much the same as can be done with email.
I'm completing sections of the Alteryx Academy and see the 100% progress bar, but it would be great to have a link where we can see and download all our completed courses in a transcript form. We could provide it to our leadership as a way for them to measure growth in our skills, or bring it to interviews along with our resumes, etc.
Hey,
I believe this was a bug a while ago, however, I couldn't find the post surrounding it - sorry if this is a duplicate.
However, currently, the LinkedIn icon does not appear on the community profiles:
And it is just a white square next to the twitter logo.
I cant seem to see anything obvious in the chrome inspect elements to suggest why its not appearing, and just for a test, it does not appear on Chrome (logged in), Chrome (logged out and incognito), or Edge.
It is also not just my profile:
Thanks!

Hi there community team,
We've discussed this before but I wanted to re-raise this for consideration.
The Alteryx Community is super important to the alteryx platform and it is a big part of why people love and buy Alteryx.
The question is how we make this more available and convenient for people to use and be a part of.
Part of the solution seems to be offering the mobile experience - the underlying technology for community.alteryx.com (khoros) does have a mobile app - and it seems that by making community available in more places and in more ways it will allow more folk to contribute.
Is this something that we can consider for this year?
thank you
Sean
The interactive trainings are constantly down, you could put all these on youtube, and then they have the capability to better manage the same. We would watch the short 5-6 min videos on youtube and then do the questionnaire in the alteryx website.
It is very demotivating, that the trainings are down (starts and then freezes or audio is lost). MAybe it would be worth investing a little more into the server capacity or if you cannot afford, lets go to youtube.
Thanks
Hi all,
Now that the Gallery has moved into the community - it seems that we have an opportunity to start thinking about how a great community-built macro could become part of the main Alteryx product.
There are dozens of really valuable and useful tools that have been built by the community which would be a valuable additional to the product - like file move tools; directory create tools; plain old SQL tools. While it's great that these are available in the community / gallery; for large institutions it becomes prohibitive to distribute these because every one needs to be wrapped into a separate installer in order to distribute them to our users.
If these great tools can be included in the main product, then they will be part of the main Alteryx installer, and we can then harness the power of Alteryx to accelerate our users with additional capabilities.
When a group sends notification for an event, for clarity on how to RSVP, I think the E-mails should auto-populate at the beginning or ending of the notification with a linked message stating to follow to the page in order to RSVP -- this would reduce or even eliminate and confusion on where one is meant to RSVP (i.e., adding it to your calendar is not an RSVP!). Additionally, once one has gone to the group page, the RSVP buttons are not visible until after login, creating further confusion -- I think the most simple and effective way to correct this is to keep the RSVP responses private until login but make the RSVP buttons visible such that when one clicks on one and is not logged in already, they are prompted to log in.
I write blog posts in the french community and once they are posted I can't edit them. Maybe this is the same for all communities.
It would be useful for the author to be able to edit blog posts after it has been posted.
The same goes for Knowledge base articles.
The 2021 Alteryx INSPIRE conference wrapped up this week. There were lots of inspiring presentations. Along the way I picked up the latest Tips & Tricks document prepared by Stephane Portier. This title has been a regular INSPIRE feature at past conferences and each issue contained a mix of valuable secrets and shortcuts to make the Alteryx experience even better.
This time the title is a little misleading. What Stephane has created is a very complete and organized guide to best practices for developers working with the Alteryx Developer application.
Stephane makes a strong case for developers to take the extra effort and attention needed to create robust, well documented and maintainable workflows that will evolve over time as requirements change and data sources morph.
He has drawn attention to the specific features and approaches that lead to the creation of structured workflows that can be easily understood and audited. He provides guidance on techniques that work to maximize quality deliverables, yet minimize the effort needed to get there. It is a gem.
Everyone wanting to do serious work with Alteryx Designer should keep this document handy.
I have attached a copy and encourage you to read it from end to end.
I encourage the editors of the Community to give this document a prominent position on the site. In addition, to encourage best practices across the community, I can imagine a contest being created where the winners would be those who could best demonstrate following the advice given in this guide.
As someone who is primarily a Gallery Admin as opposed to a workflow designer, and given that this is the Server section I'm surprised that there is no way to label a message as relating to the AdminUI.
Just a thought that adding the label might be useful?
I usually end up just picking Server and Gallery but this seems a little generic?
