A new idea to suggest a new community feature or improvement
I think it would be great if there was a knowledge base section(or something similar) for any user to post random workflows that they find useful and want to share/solicit feedback from the community. Several posts from the last few weeks would fit well in this new category and sparked the idea: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Setup-Configuration/Polling-a-directory-for-changed-files/m-p/51019 by @N___ or https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Publishing-Gallery/An-API-Client-for-Alteryx-Gallery-in-R/m-p/49464... by @michael_treadwell. Instead of having these great workflows buried/mixed in with all the questions, it would great if there was a single spot for people to post various workflows back to the community and get comments/feedback/enhancements from fellow community members. I think many more people would be open to sharing and commenting on posts like this if they had a spot to post them that is separate from all the Q&A style spots.
Hi @WillM and Community-Team,
today I went to the ideas section and wanted to look if someone already posted tool improvements for the 'Test'-Tool. Therefore I used the Search and tried to narrow the results like this:
While the first look is promising, most of the posts do not talk about the Test-Tool itself, but other tools/improvements.
Would it be possible to add another label "Tools" to actually select the exact tool(s) that we are referencing in the posts? This would also be an amazing feature for developers / product managers to see which tools get the most ideas, summed up likes, etc.
I'd be willing to help categorize all 3000-4000 ideas that we currently have in the Designer Ideas section to get all old ideas categorized appropriately*. For all new posts, the community manager that checks / comments the idea, should check if the users added this himself or if not, add it. If this is too much work, I'd also be willing to help categorize new ideas on a weekly basis.
*Other ACEs might as well help categorize, but if not, I don't mind spending a weekend to get this right.
Note: It has too be a label, that allows to select 0-n tools, because not all posts talk about tool improvements, but others talk about multiple. Because of the zero possibility, this has to be a non-mandatory field.
Best
Alex
Hello Team - Maybe a simple fix, but could you please change the color of the font with which the names of the user groups leads are written. Most of the time, it's barely visible.
I wonder if it would be helpful to show/discuss the legal and/or compliance benefits related to alteryx.
It would be great to have a forum for users/partners to submit their solutions to each of the weekly challenges (moreso the advanced ones).
Would be a good way to see how others have approached problems, and create a bit of competition as to who can get the 'slickest' answer!
When me or my clients try to compare alteryx to other vendors,
we all end up seeing graphs like the one below. These are showing how very few tags alteryx has on stackoverflow...
Clients often consider how it's easy to find answers to common analytics or software related questions. Alteryx seems to have a lag in there.
I wish, me and all of Alteryx community friends could be able to link their Alteryx accounts to the stackoverflow accounts and once we write down a question it's going to be automatically posted on stackoverflow and when an answer is received it'll update us as well...
I sincerely believe that this will greately increse the word of mouth effect on Alteryx products.

Kaggle competitions are widely known in academia but not so much in the industry, at least in MENA region...
Mostly college grads, ML practicioners and analytics consultants are attending who frequently code... Instead Community can provide
To name a few tutorials;
Some recent interesting competitions are;
It may even be a nicer idea if someone publishes a top %1 solution in competitions using Alteryx,
discounts to inspire events or personal licenses may be provided or automatically becoming an ACE for 6 months/a year etc.
I think it would be great to have Grand Prix style event once a quarter for the weekly challenges. This can be broken down by expertise level. I see this increasing the engagement on the community and further spread the word on weekly challenges. Also, not everyone makes it on stage for Grand Prix, this event could be their opportunity to experience Grand Prix
I think the New Posts feed could be improved by filtering the Challenge question answers out of it. They push out people's actual new comments and questions.
I needed to mention Alteryx Support team,
in order to inform them about an issue I came across...
But couldn't find any users called
we need to mention them in our community post I belive to make sure the issues clients and potential cliens hwho are trying the demo are answered on time etc...

Could we add the capability to quickly get to the list of ideas that I have posted so that I can check on them and / or add to them?
The use case here is that often I'll say to someone "Yip - we suggested this as an idea, please add comments here...", but with hundreds of ideas in the system, it's not easy to see the ideas that are mine so that I can quickly refer someone to the right link. This can be done via the advanced search, but this is somewhat awkward to use (you have to search for something, then hit advanced search, then filter for yourself as author and Ideas as category, and then go through this page at a time)
A nice way of doing this may be to embed a tableau dash in each users's profile page, so that you can see your own ideas, grouped by popularity or grouped by tag, or by date posted etc.

Really love the certification - it's a tremendous tool for both the community at large, and for Alteryx to grow their trained user base.
How would you feel about bringing a page into the "Academy" section of the community site so that people can easily find this (that seems like a logical place to keep this)?
thank you again for the work on the certification program - @patrick_digan mentioned to me that there are now over 50 people certified already (56 this morning) - not bad at all for a 6 day old certification program!
Lumping Connect in with Gallery makes it difficult to find things specific to Connect. There is already one thread tagged as "Connect," which has nothing to do with Connect. I know it is new, and there is little activity, but with the issues I am experiencing, I expect the space to explode very quickly.
Nice podcast on Accessibility! I recently passed my Core Certification and I am a frequent user of the interactive videos which are great, so thank you. I love that there are transcripts on these, as I learn best by reading.
Have you considered making the playback speed adjustable on these resources? On audiobooks I usually slow it down to .75 or .8 speed and it's a big help, especially when I don't want to miss an important word or concept. I believe Netflix is also adding speed adjustment options. I know that there are people with auditory processing disorders that could probably benefit from a feature like that as well.
Thanks!

Hey there,
Please forgive me if I'm the only one who works like this - but one of my standard processes with the alteryx community is to frequently scan new posts, and then make a note to come back to the ones that either I want to respond to; or spend learning time on etc.
The way I currently do this is to take the URL, and pop it into Google Keep - I have 3 google Keep lists:
- One for Learning
- One for community stuff (general responses)
- one for my immediate priorities (generally stuff that I owe someone a personal response on).
Not sure if anyone else would find this useful, but i'd really value the ability to do this within the alteryx community site itself. What I'm thinking of is:
a) mark a topic as "Add to list" and then like on the Amazon Wishlist I can select which list
b) I can then print out a digest of the posts that are in a particular list for reading on the train / car / flight etc
c) this list becomes my 3rd notfication list then - currently we have notifications for alerts; personal messages - we can then add this as a 3rd item.
Essentially this could work like youtube "Save for later".
Anyone else find this useful - if so, give it ia star :=_
Happy Wednesday

This is probably just the neat-freak inside of me but I've been noticing more an more Community posts that don't really belong where they are. Examples:
To help the moderators out, I think adding a "Suggest Move" option to the Options Menu on a post (pictured below) would be valuable.
When selecting this option a little window could pop up with a list of the different areas of the Community. The user would then select the one that they feel the post should be moved too. Moderators would then see all the suggested moves on a special screen and perform the move if they agree. Ideally, any hyperlinks to the moved post that exist within other posts on the community would be redirected.
The positive benefits of this would be:
Can we have a dedicated section on the community for just Tips and Tricks where people can post tips and tricks that they would have discovered ? This could be a short video or a screenshot with some description.
I'd really like to see a data release schedule posted right where data download page is. I have searched for "data release schedule" on Alteryx site, but nothing pop up. I think it is somewhere as I have seen it before, but it is not easily found. And I'd like this to be a regular production post so we don't have to look or ask for it every year/quarter/month. That way, I don't have to keep emailing if there will be any data refresh to fulfillment or client services. The schedule should be posted right where we are looking for data.
Given the certification exams are accessed through the community, I would like the option to have 2 step authentication on my profile by registered email address/phone SMS. Is it possible to add this as a feature within the profile settings so that those who would like to add more security to their profile are able to do so?
