After used the new "Image Recognition Tool" a few days, I think you could improve it :
> by adding the dimensional constraints in front of each of the pre-trained models,
> by adding a true tool to divide the training data correctly (in order to have an equivalent number of images for each of the labels)
> at least, allow the tool to use black & white images (I wanted to test it on the MNIST, but the tool tells me that it necessarily needs RGB images) ?
Question : do you in the future allow the user to choose between CPU or GPU usage ?
In any case, thank you again for this new tool, it is certainly perfectible, but very simple to use, and I sincerely think that it will allow a greater number of people to understand the many use cases made possible thanks to image recognition.

Hi all,
When preparing reports with formatting for my stakeholders. They want these sent straight to sharepoint and this can be achieved via onedrive shortcuts on a laptop. However when sending the workflow for full automation, the server's C drive is not setup with the appropriate shortcuts and it is not allowed by our admin team.
So my request is to have the sharepoint output tool upgraded to push formatted files to sharepoint.

Ability to color the connector lines to symbolize a path or data. This would help when you have multiple sources into a Join to determine that a path is still the same set of data when you have multiple paths created.

As of today, you must set which database (e.g. : Snowflake, Vertica...) you connect to in your in db connection alias. This is fine but I think we should be able to also define the version, the release of the database. There are a lot of new features in database that Alteryx could use, improving User Experience, performance and security. (e.g. : in Hive 3.0, there is a catalog that could be used in Visual Query Builder instead of querying slowly each schema)
I think of a menu with the following choices :
-default (legacy) and precision of the Alteryx default version for the db
-autodetect (with a query launched every time you run the workflow when it's possible). if upper than last supported version, warning message and run with the last supported version settings.
-manual setting a release (to avoid to launch the version query every time). The choices would be every supported alteryx version.

In the regex tool, there is a checkbox called "copy unmatched text to output".
Unfortunately, if you are using regex from within the formula tool, this is not an option. It would be helpful if this could be added as an optional parameter in the regex formula i.e:
REGEX_Replace(String, pattern, replace, icase=1, unmatched=1)
Without this, regex outputs can sometimes be confusing, as string characters not specified by the pattern (unmatched) appear in the output. This confusion would be alleviated with the optional parameter.

Wanted to control the order of execution of objects in Alteryx WF but right now we have ONLY block until done which is not right choice for so many cases
Can we have a container (say Sequence Container) and put piece of logic in each container and have control by connecting each container?
Hope this way we can control the execution order

Everyone knows the importance of adding the appropriate controls and governance to your workflows - and often, this means including events that will generate notifications if a workflow is running with errors.
But who is the audience of that email? If it's not a developer, will that person know what they are reading and where to focus?
How about a developer that would like to customize the message that the end user will receive?
Porting some existing functionality from other tools in the Alteryx toolkit to the Events page could easily provide added flexibility to event generation:
1) Add a formatting bar to the tool like shown in the image below
-- Style changes
-- Alignment
-- Highlighting
-- Coloring
-- Images
2) Add a function bar to the tool like shown in the image below
-- Ability to view all available variables
-- Ability to apply formulas using variables
-- Ability to save formulas

Referencing the previous idea: Inputs/Output should have the option to read/write a compressed file (ZIP or GZIP)
This idea has been implemented for inputting .zip files. However, we still need to use the run command workaround for outputs. It's very common for many users to want to output their .csv, .xlsx, .pdf to a .zip. The functionality would also need to extend to Gallery.

With many organizations migrating to OneDrive, a Dynamic Input/Output tool for OneDrive and SharePoint is needed.
The enhancement should have the following components:

This is a popular feature on other tools, such as Talend (now Talaxie) : the ability to export the workflow as a vectorized screenshot in svg.
Why ? it helps to build documentation, svg being vectorized, it means the picture can be zoomed in without losing quality.

To increase Performance on some old Buissness Logic, i am trying to switch an existing system to In-DB tools. This has given me a lot of headache because there is no Multi-Field Formular Tool in the In-DB section. It is a very tedious job to run through every workflow to manually set the same regex for a table with more than 20 Fields.
I have had the idea to implement such a tool myself but i think this could be helpful for other developers in Alteryx Desktop too, so i am bringing this up here.
The Idea is to have a similar approach to the new Multi-Formular Tool like the other already existing Tool in Preperation.
I dont know if it is asking too much, but here it is 😅
A lot of times when i develop Analytic Apps for business users, they ask me if they can run the app locally without Alteryx Designer installed. For business users it seems to make sense that the developer need to have Alteryx Designer licensed and installed, but also that after the app is developed, it would make sense and be great to be able to be able to run it without Alteryx Designer installed. And i agree with them!
I know that using the Server is the way to go in these situations, but not every company has this possibility. So, the idea is to have some non paid way to let business users from a company that already have Alteryx Designer licenses to be able to run just Analytic Apps locally, without Alteryx Designer installed on their local machines/and if the company does not have Alteryx Server yet.

Big picture : on Hadoop, a table can be
-internal (it's managed by Hive or Impala, and act like any other database)
-external (it's managed by hadoop, can be shared among the different hadoop db such as hive and impala and you can't delete it by default when dropping the table

Alteryx only creates internal tables while it would be nice to have the ability to create external tables that we can query with several tools (Hive, Impala, etc).

The Email tool does not send out e-mails after an error occurred in the workflow. Since this usually is a good thing, it sometimes would be helpful being able to send out e-mails also in case of errors.
In particular, I want to send out an e-mail with a detailed and formatted custom error message.
Thus, please add a check box "Also send mail in case of errors" which is off by default.
Side note: The Event "Send mail After Run With Errors" does not work for me because it is too inflexible. Just sending out the OutputLog is not helpful because the error message might be hidden after hundreds of rows.

As of today, we can easily copy or duplicate a table with in-database tool.This is really useful when you want to have data in development environment coming from production environment.
But can we for real ?
Short answer : no, we can't do it in these cases :
-partitions
-any constraints such as primary-foreign keys
But even if these ideas would be implemented, this means manually setting these parameters.
So my proposition is simply a "clone table"' tool that would clone the table from the show create table statement and just allow to specify the destination path (base.table)

As of now, you have two very distinct kinds of connection :
-in memory alias
-in database alias
It happens than every single time I use a in-database alias I have to create the same for in memory since some operations cannot be realized in in-database (such as pre-sql or interface tools)
What does that mean for us :
-more complex settings operations/training/tests
-unefficient worflows that have to deal with two kinds of alias.
What I propose :
-a single "connection alias", that can be used either for in-db either for in-memory,
-one place to configure
-the in-db or in-memory being dependant on the tools you use

This is a feature I haven't seen in any data prepation/etl. The core feature is to detect the unique key in a dataframe. More than often, you have to deal with a dataset without knowing what's make a row unique. This can lead to misinterpret the data, cartesian product at join and other funny stuff.
How do I imagine that ?
a specific tool in the Data Investigation category
Entry; one dataframe, ability to select fields or check all, ability to specify a max number of field for combination (empty or 0=no max).
Algo : it tests the count distinct every combination of field versus the count of rows
Result : one row by field combination that works. If no result : "no field combination is unique. check for duplicate or need for aggregation upstream".
ex :
order_id line_id amount customer site

A few years ago, I asked for svg support in Alteryx (https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Desktop-Ideas/svg-support-for-icon-comment-image-e... ). Now, there is Alteryx Designer Cloud with other icons... already in svg !
So I think it would be great to have an harmonization between designer and cloud.

Lots of use cases involve concatenating some values based on group by clauses within the Summarize tool.
It will be great to have the option to Concatenate Unique as an aggregation method, so the results will have just one appearance for each value in the results.
Plus, having the option to get the chance to have them sorted or not will be awesome.

Could there be a way to explore the details of the results window by double-clicking on a value of the Browser profile?
Basically if the profile of a field in the Browser tells me that there are x records meeting that value, could they be selected by double-clicking on that value in the profile? A bit like when you explore the underpinning rows in a pivot table in Excel; if you want to see which records meet the criteria, you double-click on the value.
For example clicking twice either on the label or the count and the specific records would show.
