Update existing field in DateTime tool

I love the new Custom Format option with the DateTime tool in Alteryx 11.0, this makes working with dates SO MUCH easier... BUT it would be great if you could update an existing field rather than having to create a new column (e.g. DateTime_Out) and then use a select to put this back to the original Date field.

I echo your idea with my post here. Replacing the existing field and being able to adjust more than 1 field in one tool would be a huge value add to the Date Time Tool.

The status of this idea has been changed to 'Inactive'. This status indicates that:

I agree with others. The ability to update an existing field without needing to create a new field and then delete the old one and rename the new one via a select would be really helpful. Also a multi select option to select which fields to convert would be helpful. Otherwise you need to chain multiple date time tools, even though it’s quite common to have multiple dates (order date, paid date, dispatched date etc) which would likely have the same format.

This would be a great idea. Also, as @cgoodman3 said above, having the option to convert multiple columns though the same tool instance would be great. I'm working on a workflow now that has 3 different date tools in it one after the other.
