Submission GuidelinesHello,
After used the new "Image Recognition Tool" a few days, I think you could improve it :
> by adding the dimensional constraints in front of each of the pre-trained models,
> by adding a true tool to divide the training data correctly (in order to have an equivalent number of images for each of the labels)
> at least, allow the tool to use black & white images (I wanted to test it on the MNIST, but the tool tells me that it necessarily needs RGB images) ?
Question : do you in the future allow the user to choose between CPU or GPU usage ?
In any case, thank you again for this new tool, it is certainly perfectible, but very simple to use, and I sincerely think that it will allow a greater number of people to understand the many use cases made possible thanks to image recognition.
Thank you again

Hello all,
We all have experienced these last years the now famous concept of hide/unhide password :
Here a few examples of it
I would like this exact principle everywhere we have a password on Alteryx.
Best regards,
Simon
It looks like as of 2022.3, workflow tabs get shortened to a specific width. This is fine however now the asterisk that lets me know if my workflow has changed doesn't display in the tab anymore. I would have to look at the top of the screen to see this. I know this isn't a huge deal, but it would be nice to still be able to see the asterisk in the tab so that I can still know which workflows have been saved even if I am currently looking at a different open workflow. One solution may be to move the asterisk to the front of the workflow name.
Also, would users want a setting to allow them to keep full workflow names versus shortening them?
Thanks!
It'd be great to have all DCM connections available in the Data connections window.
And when Use Data connection Manager (DCM) is ticked, The screen defaults to DCM Connection list.
It would be great if Tool Containers had an I/O connector icon where you can connect the last tool in that container to and then Cache the container so that it wouldn't have to run every time.
For example, in the diagram below, the output of the Spatial Match would connect to an object such as the "I" that I drew below. We would then be able to cache the output of that container so that all objects in the container wouldn't have to run each time. The "O" would be the cached output and would feed the rest of the workflow.
So I discovered this neat little tip today where if you have a browse tool in your workflow and click on the hyperlink (2 in the picture below) whilst the workflow is running, it will open a pop-out browse rather than show the data in the results window, meaning you can still see all of the messages). However, If you click on the Tool name/ID (1 in the image) is locks the results window to that tool. Idea for a fix here
And this lead me to think that Alteryx must be populating the temporary browse anywhere in memory as it's running, so it would be great if it was possible to either click on the tool anchors or the tool names in the results window whilst the workflow is running to see the browse anywhere data.
I set up my canvas how I want it, but I will sometimes undock or auto-hide the canvas windows (Results, Configuration, etc.). My suggestion is to add a Locked Dock as a selection that will allow for resizing, but not undocking.
One of the common issues when you build macros is the error "the schema of macro output XXX has changed between iterations"
So the next step that we commonly follow is to put a select tool into the flow just before the macro output - and convert all the fields to a specific type; untick the "unknown" field; and then sometimes have to go into the XML to add the "Forced = true" flag into the XML so that it doesn't change over time:
Please could you add an option under the "Options" tab to force / lock down the type of every field with one click? That would eliminate dozens of clicks on every creation of a macro.
Thank you
Sean
Hello!
I recently build a couple of workflows where i needed to union many parts of my data together.
Take for instance, the following:
I appreciate this is an unrealistic workflow - but if i am splitting data, at any points, and doing different processes, i am going to need to union that data back together.
Now without my fix - the solution is to put a union tool onto the canvas, and drag each connection to the union tool. This is fine on a small scale, but when its 5+ connections this can become tedious.
My proposed solution, is similar to the 'cache and run' functionality, in that you can select many tools with Ctrl + Click, and at the bottom you have the option for 'Union Outputs':
And when clicked, a union is added to the canvas, following the furthest most right tool (or last clicked), and have a union setup, with all connections made:
Hope this makes sense!

Currently if I drag a tool onto the canvas and it has multiple input anchors, Alteryx will try to connect to the first input anchor from the output of the nearest tool I am hovering near.
However the improvement I would like to see is where there are specific tools which are required to go into each input that it 'intelligently' connects to the correct input, for example on the gif below I have a PDF input and PDF template tool (pre-computer vision), and when I bring the image to text tool in, it will try and connect the output of the template tool into the D input anchor, when the correct input is the T anchor. What this leads to is me having to delete a connection and then re-wiring which slows down the development time.
Hi team,
Currently, we can FILTER results in the result window using some string operations like "String equals", "String Contains", etc.
Firstly, it's a great feature. Kudos for the same.
However, it would be really helpful if we can add the IN operator functionality to this Result window FILTER.
Most of the time, we always want to check for multiple values while filtering the data.
I am attaching a screenshot of the FILTER location that I am referring to!
For eg, In the above screenshot of the result window, I want to filter for Name IN ('Bullock County','Baldwin County','Butler County')
Kindly look into this.
Thanks in advance.

So many times, a given source field name could change. If you have a complex workflow it can be time consuming to update various join, select and other tools to replace the old field name with the new field name. For example in sales you may have fields that include the year "Sales_2020".
It would be nice to "mimic" the functionality that Tableau provides where you can somehow click/select a field (e.g. Sales_2020) and then select "Replace Reference" and select the new field you want to use instead (e.g Sales_2021). This functionality would then automatically carry through the entire workflow and wherever you used Sales_2020 you will now automatically use Sales_2021.
Thoughts on this?
When creating annotations in the new image template tool as part of intelligence suite, a feature improvement would be the ability to modify the annotation, to change the dimensions of it.
Currently the only option is to cancel and redraw but being able to edit and drag the existing annotation would be a great addition. This is because the sizing and position of the annotation is important in the OCR process, and when there are many annotations on a page a user is likely to only need to make minor adjustments instead of deleting and redrawing. A mock up is below.
Sounds simple :

I think the undo/redo capabilities in Alteryx could be greatly improved. Here is an idea that I think would be beneficial...
I'd like to see which exact tools are affected by my undo/redo actions. An idea was suggested a couple years ago to move your location on the canvas, but that was not added to the roadmap. Instead, is it possible to add the tool ID to the undo menu so that it is obvious which tool each line is detailing?
This is the current debug menu that shows your previous actions:
When a tool is created, the ID can be displayed in this menu, but this is not shown when a change is made to an existing tool. My suggestion is that the menu would say:
4. Change Sort (3) Properties
This same change should be made in the Edit dropdown menu.
Hello!
Just another QOL change from me today.
When building a workflow - just for fun sometimes I like to make mistakes. It's never by accident I promise 😎
Now theoretically, if I did make a mistake, and put a tool in the wrong place (or want to refactor, or want to move a select earlier in the workflow etc), I would typically right click, cut and connect around, and then right click the connection I want to paste onto. This works fine, however, some users are unaware of it, and it can still be a bit of a pain.
What would be really nice, is if we could hit ctrl and click/drag a tool, to move it elevated of connections. I have attempted to create a couple of gifs to illustrate.
The current method of moving a tool within a workstream:
What I'd love, if you could hold ctrl + drag:
Cheers!

Hi
I'm really missing a search in the medata phane?
If I am on data phane:
If im browsing though metadata:
When numerous formulae exist within a single formula object, being able to "Expand All / Collapse All" would be most welcomed. :-)
Also - the ability to Disable/Enable a single formula in the formula object - also very nice to have.
Experts -
While developing code in the formula tool (and perhaps elsewhere) it would be helpful to have the "parenthesis highlighting" function found in database software such as SSMS, DBeaver, SQL Developer etc. I.e. put the cursor next to a closing paren and the corresponding opening paren gets highlighted (or vice versa) - conversely if there is no corresponding paren nothing gets highlighted and you instantly know you've got a bug to fix (and where to fix it)!
The interactive results pane is great, but wouldn't it be cool if you could interact directly with the result pane to do things like filtering.
There are a few too many steps with the method at the moment, where you need to either copy the value or type it into the filter pop up. A simple right click and filter on selected value would be a big ux improvement.
With the new keyboard shortcuts in 2021.1, I would love to see this same functionality added to the global search. I would like for
1) The global search bar to be accessible via a keyboard shortcut
2) You can navigate through the results with the arrow keys and
3) I can click enter on a tool and it will add it to the canvas just like the tool palette now functions in 21.1.
