Issue
I receive the error "Need to enable ServerOS"
Environment
- Product - Alteryx Designer
- 11.8, 2018.1 and any future version of Alteryx
- System Settings: You can not run a Scheduler add on to a Designer ServerOS
Cause
- You're running your Alteryx Designer on a VM.
- Environmentrequires ServerOS to be enabled
- Show All Macro Messages Additional Information/Messages (Specifically Macro tools/R tools)
The cause of this error typically comes when the user who is activating the license key is running their designer on a virtual machine or running Alteryx in a ServerOS environment. This error will appear when ServerOS is NOT enabled on your license key.
Resolution
When receiving his error you will need to reach out to your Account Executive and ask for permission to enable ServerOS on your Designer license key. Your Account Executive will then submit a request to fulfillment to enable ServerOS on your license key.
A license key could not be activated because it is not valid for server or virtual environment. Contact your license administrator for help with licensing.
