Submission GuidelinesHello,
After used the new "Image Recognition Tool" a few days, I think you could improve it :
> by adding the dimensional constraints in front of each of the pre-trained models,
> by adding a true tool to divide the training data correctly (in order to have an equivalent number of images for each of the labels)
> at least, allow the tool to use black & white images (I wanted to test it on the MNIST, but the tool tells me that it necessarily needs RGB images) ?
Question : do you in the future allow the user to choose between CPU or GPU usage ?
In any case, thank you again for this new tool, it is certainly perfectible, but very simple to use, and I sincerely think that it will allow a greater number of people to understand the many use cases made possible thanks to image recognition.
Thank you again

Hello,
The release notes quality is not exactly at its best nowadays The 2022.1 releases notes available here https://help.alteryx.com/release-notes/designer/designer-20221-release-notes don't mention at least two cool new features :
-DCM for in-database connection.
-distinction between greenplum and postgresql, which is important for me as I post this as an idea : https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Ideas/Separate-entry-in-in-db-configuration-for-Po...
Note that the corresponding idea aren't also up to date.
It's cool to have new features, it's way better if you gives the full list.
Best regards,
Simon
i investigate a super messy and huge workflow, i have a hard time to trace back the data stream.
it only have around 5 wireless connection, some is easy to find, but some are connect to union..
if have a button to turn all connection back to wire, and better if have option for just solid for temp to show as solid line. it will helps alot.
When we rename a field in canvas it breaks a lot of formulas or config on tools like select tool or unique tool or summarize tool. If designer can automatically update these new field names in all the further tools if will save us a lot of time.
Thanks,
Sanju
Please introduce functionality whereby users can pull up a listing of all input data connections leveraging database queries. This would be exceedingly useful in instances where users can either individually or bulk edit various connection configurations, such as:
This would be far more useful than scanning through the canvas looking for all of the input tools. Especially if the workflow is highly complex leveraging multiple inputs to various data sources. You could also incorporate a link for users to click on to take them to the point in the canvas where the input tool is located.
I annotate every single tool, every single time. I treat a workflow like documentation. It would be helpful to use markdown in the annotations.
Often (like, a surprising amount of the time), we will be on a working session with a customer and I'll notice they will break a data stream connection in order to prevent downstream tools from running. Of course, I always coach them to add a tool container to the downstream tools, then disable it but they continue to choose not to.
I'd love to see a feature where we can right-click on a data stream, then select "disable downstream tools", which then auto adds (and disables) a tool container.
Gif of current behavior I too often see below, thank you!
Hi Team,
This is very helpful if you add the run and stop option in scheduled workflow for Alteryx designer desktop automation. There is no option of pausing the workflow. this idea should be implemented that will make life easy who are running n- number of workflows.
Thanks,

FILE==>Open Recent==>
(add the ability to Pin Favorite Workflows)
The Pinned workflows will persist at the top of your recent files each time you open your Alteryx Designer Application.
See this community link for context:
tl;dr:
An option to clear the In-DB File History is not available in the Designer's GUI. If this feature is required, it's recommended to open an Idea on the Alteryx Community to submit an enhancement request.
Please implement this as an idea; I need to clear some In-DB connections that are no longer valid and in a managed environment, accessing the registry is laughable.
Thank you!
Hi,
I know that @MarqueeCrew had an idea for Auto-UNC which was "Not Planned" last year, https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Ideas/Auto-UNC-when-saving/idi-p/194681, but what about a simple flag/pop-up to let users know when they hit "save" or "save as" that there are relative paths being used in the workflow (Perhaps even indicate any/all tools that they appear) and closes out the upload without closing out the workflow.
I don't see a solution out there for this, but if it exists and I am just a bonehead, please feel free to delete this thread. 🙂
Thanks
Dan
I've recently developed a complex Standard Macro which gets called from a workflow. It has multiple input tools and output tools where the output tools create an excel file on a drive location.
Every time I try making changes to my macro, I want to test certain aspects of the macro and would not want any output file generated. The way I am doing that now is by placing each output tool in a separate container and manually disabling each container. This involves unnecessary extra containers, is quite time consuming and I risk missing disabling an output causing an unwanted file creation.
It would be nice if I could have an option to disable all Output tools in one go - perhaps an extra setting can be offered in the Canvas to do this. A "debug" mode could also be explored where, much like VBA and possibly other coding languages, Alteryx runs a workflow / macro from Point A to Point B only, or runs the entire workflow and skips the output portion unless specified.
This may be a bit of a pipe dream but having an interface that would automatically and efficiently implement quantum computing functionality against different back ends would position Alteryx to be a user friendly interface to the quantum computing realm. My feeling is that, at the end of the day, most people will know quantum programming about as well as they currently know GPU programming, which is to say not at all. They'll need an easy-to-use tool to translate their wants to some form of quantum speed-up. Q#, Qiskit, Cirq and Bra-ket are neat, but suppose Alteryx had a "quantum solver" tool that would handle a lot of the dirty work of setting up, say, a quantum Grover Search, where the user just describes what they need.
I know some of the heavy hitters are already trying to simplify the interface to the quantum realm (e.g. as of 1/1/2021: Google Cirq, Microsoft Q#, IBM Aqua, AWS Braket all moving beyond basic enablement into realms of user friendliness.)
Just a thought!
Data Connections and Workflow Credentials are key part of migration process for workflows to Gallery.
They are provisioned for each user upon request.
When a developer leaves the organization, there is no easy way to identify all the Data Connections and Workflow Credentials assigned to that user.
Current options in the Gallery is for the Admin to browse through each Data Connection and Workflow Credential, navigate the Users tab and identify the list users.
For a large organization with many Data Connections and Workflow Credentials it will hard to manage this since.
1. If the workflows change ownership, the new owner has to be given access to the Data Connections and Workflow Credentials.
2. Remove user access to the Data Connections and Workflow Credentials.
A Gallery page in Admin should include all Assets a user owns/has access to which includes the following. By selecting a user, the list should populate.
We have implemented a solution to capture this information by getting the details from MongoDB. Also an automated process where the list goes to the manager when a developer leaves the organization so that he can manage the assets by identifying a new owner for the assets.
In the new version, we have an easy way to change ownership of a workflow in Gallery. In the same manner other Assets also should be taken care.
Most tools do not result in record changes: Select Tool, Data Cleansing, Record ID, Formula, Auto Field, Multi Field/Row, etc. It would be nice to be able to tell Alteryx which tools to display the Connection Progress; specifically the Record Counts. It would reduce the clutter/noise and allow the Record Counts to only display for the tools that matter to the analyst/user. Right now it displays for all tools regardless of whether the records changed or not. My hope would be to tell Alteryx to only display the Record Counts for tools like: Input, Output, Filter, Join, Summarize, Crosstab, Unique, etc. and ignore all other tools.
The current approach gives me both Record Counts and Total Record Size in KB, but I don't need or want the KB.
The option I am requesting does not currently exist. It would remove the KB and leave you with just the Record Counts. KB is useless to me. I only care about Record Counts. This option would help reduce the noise/clutter of the KBs.
Hello,
Unless you're lucky, your input dataset can have fields with the wrong types. That can lead to several issues such as :
-performance (a string is waaaaaaaay slower than let's say a boolean)
-compliance with master data management
-functional understanding (e.g : if i have a field called "modified" typed as string, I don't know if it contains the modification date, an information about the modification, etc... while if it's is typed as date, I already know it's a date)
-ability to do some type-specific operations (you can't multiply a string or extract a week from a string)
right now, the existing tools have been focused on strings but I think we can do better.
Here a proposition :
entry : a dataframe
configuration :
-selection of fields
or
-selection of field types
-ability to do it on a sample (optional)

I would like the ability to configure a default naming convention for yxdb files created through the "Cache and Run Workflow" feature. For example, the naming convention could be <YXMD filename>-<ToolID>-<CreatedDateTime>.yxdb.
This would make it easier and faster to identify and re-use yxdbs.
I used to use a software before (LabVIEW) and it had the capability to exchange code via snippets or as part of png images. I think this will impact not only community, but also facilitate the code exchange
