Replace function in Regex tool to allow use of fields

It would be absolutely marvellous if the ability to use a field as the replace value could be incorporated into the Regex tool. Currently the "Replacement Text" field is a hardcoded text value, and so to make that dynamic you have to wrap the tool in a batch and feed in the value as a Control Parameter. If we could just select a field to use as the replacement value, that would be spiffy.

You can use a field if you use regex_replace() in a formula tool. So it would be great to see this added to the UI of the regex tool. As it is likely that new users will follow a more guided approach by using the regex tool, but as users develop more complex workflows they will likely transition to the formula tool; for example as they want to do a multi step process and don’t want to bring in multiple regex tools to the canvas. But eliminating the differences between what you can do with a formula vs a tool would be great for usability.

Great idea! The regex tool is amazing already, but this and other suggestions would make it way better than using the regex functions in the formula tool

Any idea with the word "marvellous" in it deserves my vote @mceleavey!!!

In addition it happens to be a great idea and as @cgoodman3 said, it would give the Regex tool the same functionality that already exists in the regex_replace formula.
