Submission GuidelinesHello,
After used the new "Image Recognition Tool" a few days, I think you could improve it :
> by adding the dimensional constraints in front of each of the pre-trained models,
> by adding a true tool to divide the training data correctly (in order to have an equivalent number of images for each of the labels)
> at least, allow the tool to use black & white images (I wanted to test it on the MNIST, but the tool tells me that it necessarily needs RGB images) ?
Question : do you in the future allow the user to choose between CPU or GPU usage ?
In any case, thank you again for this new tool, it is certainly perfectible, but very simple to use, and I sincerely think that it will allow a greater number of people to understand the many use cases made possible thanks to image recognition.
Thank you again

On the Reporting palette, the Map Legend Builder tool has an extra "the" in the tooltip. I have enclosed an image below. Full disclosure: it isn't a bug, it doesn't affect functionality, and it's trivial. This is version 2018.3.4.51585.
When a tool container is disabled, I'd like the lines that are going into it to be different from "enabled" lines.
They could be grey or dotted for example.
When working on a workflow and disabling containers, I find that the lines entering disabled containers become confusing or cluttering. It would be much simpler to focus my attention efficiently if lines that remain enabled could be distinguished quickly.
I asked this before. WHY DO WE HAVE TO HAVE A POP UP WINDOW OPEN UP EVERY TIME WE RUN ALTERYX?! I asked this before, and the comment was made, "there is a check box to turn it off in the settings." Yes, that is true, there is a checkbox! And guess what, to my surprise (insert sarcasm here), IT DOESNT WORK! THE MOST BASIC, EASIEST THING YOU CANT GET RIGHT, and that is EXTREMELY ANNOYING.
Just LOST THE INTRO WINDOW. WE ALL KNOW ITS ALTERYX WHEN WE OPEN IT, DO YOU NEED THAT MUCH MORE ADULATION THAT I HAVE TO CLOSE A WINDOW THAT REMINDS ME THAT I AM USING ALTERYX?!?!
Maybe I should send an email to alteryx to remind them I am using their product, will you feel even more important then? Pardon that slam here in my nastygram, but this is JUST AMATEUR!
A multi billion dollar company, and youre wasting effort with this. GEEZUZ
When in the flow of designing a workflow, I often accidentally click on the help ? Icon on the side bar of the configuration window, thereby launching a browser window, taking me out if Alteryx and interrupting my flow. Would love to have some UX indication, perhaps a different color, that clicking on this icon will redirect the user out of Alteryx.
Do you have self diagnosed OCD? Do you know why 59 could be a magic number in Alteryx? After long bellyaching in these forums about distribute evenly (+1) and auto layout, and the clean my workflow features I suddenly realized, why not just snap to grid and make my grid size the size of an Alteryx tool? Voila! only ...no. Setting the grid size to 59 and snapping only intermittently works. There seem to be varying reference points used for the snap depending on the existence of containers, etc. So my idea, maintain a single reference point for workflow snapping that should ensure everything snaps based on that point (aligns to the grid).
For those of you still wondering what I'm on about... note how the append tool is shifted. Yes I know I can click and move it to align with the grid, but it gets cumbersome when dealing with many items in many containers. One grid to rule them all.
Line UP!
For new users (and sometimes even veterans) understanding what an error message means can be a challenge.
I think it would be great to be able to right click on an error message (or warning) in the results window and have the option to "Search Community for error".
There should be a page like this one for every error message:
https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Knowledge-Base/Error-Type-mismatch-in-operator/ta-p/34149
(Nice job @AndrewL )
Or, if the Help had documentation on common error messages and their resolution then an option to "See Help document for this error". Currently the help has nothing that I could find.

Often we run into two pretty common situations:
In both cases, I would prefer that I can set the default behaviour of ctrl-x or delete like the way 'Delete and connect around' behaves.
Thanks,
Ruud
I've got six workflows up on my screen now and must reboot. I would like the option to save the workspace and reopen all flows at once.
Cheers,
Mark
At present - to identify the dependencies of your workflow - you have to go to to "Advanced Settings" to find this critical capability.
(see @MattB 's great post here: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Knowledge-Base/Workflow-Dependencies/ta-p/49696 )
Could we instead move this to the workflow properties on the left hand side - this would be a more logical place to keep this info.

Hi Alteryx Devs -
Doing a simple, but cumbersome workflow with a lot of database inputs. It was going slow, and every time I tried to paste something into it from another workflow, I'd get lock ups. Get the 'Workflow must be run for field meta info to be accurate' error. Google tells me that I need to check the 'Disable Auto Configuration' option. OK. It is in user settings, but this means for my other workflows that don't have problems like this (i.e., 99% of my workflows), I'll have that functionality applied when it really is only a problem for the minority.
Should be a relatively simple fix to give this option at workflow properties time instead of user settings time.
Thanks.

It would be really nice if we could save our own custom color palette when coloring tool containers and comments.
I use colors to define the purpose of my tool containers and it would be much easier if I could select a labeled, reusable color.
I recently ran into an issue where I had to remove my company's gallery from my Designer's Save As menu. Unfortunately, figuring out how to do this in the UI took far longer than I anticipated, and I actually blew it away using the registry. Eventually I found that when going to Save As, you can either remove it from the "Connecting" splash screen or you can press the gear from the Save As dialog box and remove the gallery that way, neither of which are an intuitive way to manage gallery removal. I would advocate for adding an entry to the Advanced Options menu along with data source collections for adding/removing/modifying gallery connections.
As this list of connection, dependency, and gallery management entries continues to grow, it may also make sense to remove it from "Advanced Options" and create a more descriptive "Data" or "Connections" menu or sub-menu. I think it would be helpful to see aliases, in-db connections, dependencies, assets, and gallery management all grouped together within the interface.
My use case is simple. I place an explorer tool on the canvas pointed to a local htm file. During the workflow run, I update the htm file and want to update the canvas to display the results.

Hi,
This is a small thing but it really messes with my OCD. It would be great if we could manually move the connection lines between tools , this would make large workflows a lot nicer to look at and easier to follow.
I am aware of the wireless tool but i like to see connections, just want them a bit neater.
Thanks
Some of my workflows requires about 2 hours to run. Would like a stopwatch feature on the workflow UI or application after I begin running it. Would like to get an email when completed, as well. Thx
The Workflow configuration window currently has "Canvas" as the default tab when clicking on whitespace in a workflow.
Since workflow orientation, annotation settings, and progress settings tend to be consistent for a user, I think it makes more sense to have the default tab on something that might be more relevant to the user.
Workflow provides information that is useful...location of the workflow and constants related to the workflow.
Runtime has settings that can change often as the user is developing out the workflow.
So either of these would provide better access to more important info that that found on the Canvas tab.
user is not able to see the complete value
only 7 digits are showing up
Please add option to right-click a module tab to rename the yxmd file. This would be easy to do, for you, and quite handy.
Most of the times we end up having multiple new workflows open and would have to scram through every tab to identify the correct one. Also when we try to search on Auto saved workflows it appears as New workflow -1,2,3 etc.
If there could be an option to temporarily name the workflow (like name sheets on excels) before we save,it would be easy and user friendly to identify the workflow as there are multiple iterations that we do before saving few workflows.
AutoSave View
When you perform an "insert after", you have to navigate directly to the tool. Not the end of the world, but if I could search through this list, it would be much quicker to do this function.
Another way of achieving this is when you add a new tool to a canvas - if you drag it on top of an existing tool the designer could ask "do you want to add this after (taking over all connections) or before; or connect the regular old way.... That way, the existing search woudl work.
