We are starting to use Alteryx as a full ETL DW build tool (and blogging about it too..)

Compared to other tools in the market there do not seem to be the usual SCD(slowly changing dimension) and other "standard" tools or templates to start building.

It would be great to have a template/Macros/guide to starting to build a DW solution. It is rather daunting starting with a blank page!

Yes! We are using Alteryx to build DW ETL flows and a set of macros for SCD type 1 & 2 would be helpful. I have come from using Oracle Data Integrator and it has the concept of Knowledge Modules to do this. They don't cater for every scenario but can be customized by the customer (similar to a macro). For each column you define if it is the surrogate key, natural key, current record indicator, starting/ending timestamp, add row on change or overwrite row on change.
