The Product Idea boards have gotten an update to better integrate them within our Product team's idea cycle! However this update does have a few unique behaviors, if you have any questions about them check out our FAQ.
Which parts of having an Alteryx Public Designer would you be most interested in? Are you looking for a free option of Designer or are you looking for more of the collaboration and learning aspects? Would you picture workflows being published there for others to download and try? Anything else specifically you are thinking about?
Thanks for your reply. I have outlined a few points below.
1) A free option of the Designer(Considering the License Cost) that would allow the users to directly publish the workflows to public gallery for others to download and try the same.
2) This would help the community and new users to collaborate more on learning as it does not limit the users who want to learn Alteryx Designer to a 14-day trial
3) Another aspect is regarding the weekly challenge; more users will get a chance to participate and learn as they will have access to all the tools within the designer.

However, this doesn't mean your idea won't be implemented! The Community can still like and comment on this idea. With enough renewed interest, this idea can be brought back into the 'New Idea' status.
