Add the ability to connect to data source using JDBC

Alteryx has the ability to connect to data sources using fat clients and ODBC but not JDBC.  If the ability to use JDBC could be added to the product it could remove the need to install fat clients.

@bora_perusic  We are seeing cloud based DBs internally that are only offering JDBC availability. This limits those users from being an Alteryx User.

It is needed for Connect's H2 database

Here is another way to access any JDBC Driver data in ODBC Apps like Alteryx, Excel, Power BI. You can use JDBC-ODBC Bridge Driver (Provided by ZappySys - 3rd party).

Simply create an ODBC Connection that uses a Java Driver file (*.jar), and then any ODBC App like Alteryx, Power BI, Excel, or Python can consume data from the JDBC driver simply by calling ODBC connection like the one below. Hope this helps.

Here are some example use cases of accessing the JDBC Driver in apps like Excel / Power BI

Infor JDBC in Excel / Power BI (same way access in Alteryx)
