Submission GuidelinesHello,
After used the new "Image Recognition Tool" a few days, I think you could improve it :
> by adding the dimensional constraints in front of each of the pre-trained models,
> by adding a true tool to divide the training data correctly (in order to have an equivalent number of images for each of the labels)
> at least, allow the tool to use black & white images (I wanted to test it on the MNIST, but the tool tells me that it necessarily needs RGB images) ?
Question : do you in the future allow the user to choose between CPU or GPU usage ?
In any case, thank you again for this new tool, it is certainly perfectible, but very simple to use, and I sincerely think that it will allow a greater number of people to understand the many use cases made possible thanks to image recognition.
Thank you again

When my workflow is done running, this box pops up:
Previous to 2018.4, the space bar would select ok and the box would go away. Now the space bar selects the checkbox.
Please change it back so that the space bar selects ok.
You know how when you pull a new tool onto a canvas where you already have a workflow it wants to auto connect to the closest tool where it lands? While this can be useful it causes major issues when it moves the entire workflow you had in place. What makes this more frustrating is when it does this and you can't undo everything it did. Sometimes I spenda lot of of time fixing what it messed up. On top of which the tool it connected too was wrong!
Like I said it can be useful, but the adjustment of the entire workflow is HIGHLY unneccesary.
Could you PLEASE adjust this feature to auto connect without moving the entire module?!
Thank you 🙂
I often have up to ten or more workflows open at a time, several are named and are active workflows that I want to save, and the rest are just scratch workflows where I'm trying something out. When I close Alteryx it asks if I want to save changes to workflows, with the list of all the workflows. If I don't want to save the scratch workflows, I have to cancel, close each one individually, then exit Alteryx again, saving the ones I want to save.
It would be great if there was a check box next to the workflows in the list where you could check the ones you want to save, and it would drop the rest.
We have been running into an issue lately where a workflow error thrown by a message tool was not properly halting execution of downstream tools. It appears that the Message and Test tools do not actually throw an error in the engine, but rather just write the error to the log so even if you have your workflow set to Cancel on Error, they won’t kill the workflow.
After doing some exploring, it seems that there are four different ways to detect and raise error conditions in workflows:
Methods 1 and 2 will not properly kill execution, while methods 3 and 4 will kill execution and stop downstream processing. If a user wants to flag an issue in their log, but not stop execution of a workflow, the warning would work well, and I think ensuring that each of these methods properly kills execution of workflows would alleviate confusion and potential errors.
I have attached a workflow highlighting the four different scenarios outlined above. If the green containers are both disabled, the output will still write despite errors in the workflow and "Cancel Running Workflow on Error" turned on.
In a large enterprise - one of the key challenges is cleaning data in a consistent way. Many of the big EIM stacks have tooling for this which allows end users to create data cleanup rules, and the Microsoft version is called DQS (Data Quality Services).
Can we please add a connector to alteryx to allow us to drop a DQS cleaning tool onto a canvas - and then the 3 outputs will be
This would allow Line of Business users to build their own data cleaning rules consistently in one place, an lift this burden from the data analyst.
Thank you
Sean
Often when copying and pasting a flow the lines of the old flow behave oddly. Here is a simple example: the lines going to the bottom most Browse tool take an extra loop. If the flow is more complex, there result might be quite curious circles.
The reasons seems to be that Alteryx tries to fit the lines nicely to accommodate the pasted items. However, this functionality should be disabled when pasting items to the canvas. Mostly this is a small nuisance, but adjusting items and the lines back might take a small time and break the workflow.
Instead of being a module setting, showing counts should/could be a user setting.
I'm a long time user of Photoshop and it would be great to get some similar zooming and panning functionality into Alteryx. Such as:
- hold down the "space bar" see a hand and pan across the canvas.
- hold down "CTRL" or "ALT and zoom on the canvas
- use the mouse scroll to zoom on the canvas
While Alteryx is processing it displays information in the module with record/file infromatoin. Once processing is complete this information is gone, except for in the output window. Could you add a key combination or button toggle to redisplay this info from the prior run. It would be very helpful for debugging.
Sometimes I need to replace the last instance of something, such as change the last comma to an ampersand ("A, B, C, D" becomes "A, B, C & D").
Currently I do
ReverseString(ReplaceFirst(ReverseString([Subtypes]), ",", " &"))
One function to do this would be helpful.
My client today asked if Alteryx could be configured to build/run horizontally from right to left. Thought I'd post the idea.
Hi Team,
Is there a possibility of a Alteryx Public Designer similar to Tableau Public software?

Sometimes we have workflows that fail and it is a pain to reschedule them. I wish there was a button on the bottom right corner of each workflows result just like Output.
In regards to the little ALTERYX box that pops up every time I run my YXWZ file..
This is COMPLETELY ANNOYING! I don't want to click the dang thing every time to close it. It has ZERO VALUE. I already know its ALTERYX. SO LETS LOSE THIS WASTED STEP! I have to run this many times when testing and for production, WHY DO I HAVE TO CLICK IT EVERY SINGLE TIME TO CLOSE IT!
I have a second suggestion... I tried to enter this suggestion, AND I KEEP GETTING A SNAFU because the IDEA LABELS feature in your submit tool. LOSE IT or make it so I don't have to fill it in. I get you want to somehow CATEGORIZE, but, if you can't come up with something useful, I am not a mind reader and I don't have time to sit here and figure out WHAT MIGHT BE THE MAGIC WORD that might be associated with my idea. GIMME A BREAK!
Thanks
Our company got Alteryx server a few months ago, and we were surprised to find out that (at current setup) the members of my team can not collaborate on workflows published on our Server.
What we would like to see (How we envision being able to share workflows).
With any published workflow on the server, be able to publish a workflow to a shared space and/or share owner permissions with or edit abilities to with another user.
And
Allow another authorized user to download, edit, and update those workflows - keeping them current in someone's absence (Vacation or leave for a new job).
Please build this functionality so we can get back to using Server instead of a shared folder on the network.
Thanks,
Randy
Hi,
Can the Log format be changed, so that each line starts with
MM-DD-YYYY hh:mm:ss TZ.
This is to allow log monitoring applications to process the file correctly.
Thanks
Mike
Allow Workflow Dependencies to run other tools or workflow .
I find myself cutting and pasting (rearranging steps) a lot. Right click "move ahead" or "move upstream" would be great for shifting the order of filters and formulas and such.
The Alteryx File Types page describes only the more common file types. The page fails to describe many of the more obscure and esoteric file types and the community doesn't either.
I would like to know the purpose of each file type, where it typically lives, and with which tools it is associated when applicable.
Please update this page with a complete description of each file type.
Hi Alteryx team,
Not sure if this is a Designer or Connect idea but the idea is to allow more options when searching in Connect from the Designer interface. As of now, it seems that it is only possible to search for tables and views, or generally those objects which can be added as an input data tool.
I believe that search directly from Designer is a great feature and at least our clients use it more and more. Would it be also possible to find workflows within Connect catalogue and open these workflows in Designer?
This could also apply to other data assets within the Data sources section like APIs, procedures etc.
Thank you
Michal
