Hi, fellow Maveryx! Save the date for the upcoming Dallas / Fort Worth Alteryx User Group virtual meeting, which will be December 13th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.! With the holiday season approaching, and many holidays to celebrate in December, we have moved the meeting up a couple of weeks from the last Friday of the month.
For this next meeting, we are excited to feature Mark Connolly, Program Director, Business Intelligence at the University Chicago Medicine Center! Stay tuned for details regarding how he and his team utilize Alteryx in their innovative environment. For this next meeting, we are excited to feature Mark Connolly, Program Director, Business Intelligence, and Ania Szeszko, Analytics Engineer, Data Science and Analytics, at the University Chicago Medicine Center! Their presentation is titled, "Driving Alteryx Adoption at UChicago Medicine – Governance and Clinical Analytics Use Cases".
In this presentation, Mark and Ania will show how UChicago Medicine encountered challenges with early Alteryx adoption and addressed these through a focused data governance approach. This session shares how those efforts supported broader adoption across analytics – highlighting examples of how their Clinical Analytics team in particular has now been able to leverage Alteryx for real-world use cases and requests.
Our next guest speaker will be Alteryx ACE Claire McCollough, and she will present a cool solution created for the Advent of Code annual event, using Alteryx! In keeping with the holiday season, we are excited to feature how Claire approaches the annual Advent of Code event from a "Base A" or "Alteryx only" point of view! Hi, fellow DFW Alteryx User Group members! Just a reminder to join us for our upcoming in-person meeting this Friday, November 15th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. We are privileged to host our meeting onsite at the University of Texas at Dallas campus in Richardson, and will feature some excellent guest speakers!
Our first guest speaker is Veda Swaroop Dasagrandhi, Master's student at UT Dallas. His presentation is called, "Empowering Students with Alteryx: Transforming Projects and Preparing for Data-Driven Careers". Veda has provided this excellent overview of the session:
"In my presentation, I’ll explore how Alteryx empowers students with tools for data preparation, analysis, and automation, transforming their academic projects into practical, real-world experiences. By mastering complex data tasks and streamlining workflows, students build critical skills that enhance their career readiness. I’ll also discuss how Alteryx supports faculty in enriching curricula, equipping students with in-demand data skills."
We are excited to hear Veda's engaging presentation and learn more about how Alteryx and the SparkED program have benefitted and influenced numerous students and faculty at UT Dallas!
Next, we welcome one of the newest Alteryx ACEs, Michael Keiffer, back to the DFW stage, where he will continue his presentation from the October meeting, with some cool new topics! Michael will feature how to build Batch Macros, and will create workflows step-by-step to show each tool configuration. He will also feature an Analytic App that inputs hundreds of files, and combines them into one file. Join us to see the ACE techniques in action!

Refreshments will be provided, and a parking pass is attached to this post. Please place the pass visibly on your vehicle dashboard, and parking is allowed in any Purple parking area. A parking map is available at this link: Parking Map . Please note: Purple parking is also available in the main parking garages noted on the map, such as PS1.
The meeting will be held classroom-style (and feel free to bring your laptops) in Room 1.508 in the JSOM (Naveen Jindal School of Management) building. The walkway from the parking garage to the JSOM building is highlighted, and free parking is available in the PS1 parking garage in the Purple areas with the attached parking pass. Hi, Maveryx! Just a reminder to please join us for our October meeting, which will be held virtually by Zoom on Friday, October 25th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Central time, and will feature some excellent guest speakers!
We are privileged to start the meeting with Scott Anderson, Lead Product Strategist at Alteryx, and he will present a Product Roadmap and Vision for the platform. We look forward to hearing about the latest features and all the many benefits recently added!
Our next guest speaker will be Mike Fratoni, @mikefratoni , Analytics Consultant at Data Prep U. Mike's presentation is "Harnessing Python in Alteryx: Advanced Techniques for Intermediate Users", and he has provided this great overview:

In this session, we’ll explore how Python can extend the capabilities of Alteryx, allowing for more advanced data manipulation and customization. You'll learn how to incorporate Python scripts for tasks such as complex calculations, advanced data transformations, and custom visualizations, all while keeping your workflows efficient and repeatable. This presentation is ideal for intermediate Alteryx users looking to expand their automation and analysis toolkit with Python integration."

To complete this list of innovative speakers, we will feature Michael Keiffer, CPA P.C., @mkeiffer , who is an independent consultant and instructor - as well as one of our newest Alteryx ACEs! Michael's presentation will focus on potential fraud analytics and showcasing the Find and Replace, Fuzzy Duplicates and the REGEX functions, specifically demonstrating how to look for duplicates on addresses and different techniques for possibly matching addresses across different datasets. In addition, he will show how to harmonize/normalize addresses with the Find and Replace Tool and how to expand duplicates testing by using the Fuzzy Duplicates Tool. To round out this exciting presentation showcasing Alteryx from an ACE analytics point of view, Michael plans to show a workflow built using Python to help perform fuzzy matches on address fields!
