UTD SparkED Datathon - Volunteers Needed!

Hi Dallas-Ft. Worth User Group!

Alteryx SparkED is hosting a Datathon at the University of Texas, Dallas this April and we need your help! This data style competition brings together students interested in data to work with Alteryx Designer to solve analytic challenges and compete for cash prizes.  

We are looking for a total of 20 volunteers to help us manage the LIVE Datathon on campus at UT Dallas. Check-out this SparkED Datathon Sizzle Reel from last year's SoCal competition to get a better idea about what a datathon entails (including all the fun and excitement!). 

When: Friday, April 5th 2024, 8:30am – 5:30pm CST

Where: UTD -  Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM): 800 W Campbell Rd, Richardson, TX 75080

Your role will be to act as a mentor and Alteryx expert  for assigned groups as they work on their use case. We ask that you check in with your teams periodically throughout the session to make sure they have support. Additionally, you may be assigned to judging panels and asked to help grade solutions. Lunch will be provided!

Criteria to participate:

• Experience with Alteryx Designer
• A prep call will be held for volunteers along with an overview of use case.

Thank you, @MadisonD !  This sounds like such a great event and a lot of fun!  I have seen portions of Alteryx Datathons in the past, and they are so exciting; the energy is intense as the participants work to find solutions!  Please count me in as a volunteer for that day, and I will reach out to Bhumika as well.

Hi, DFW Maveryx!  I have talked with Bhumika Patel, the Alteryx DataThon lead, and the SparkED team is open to having part-time volunteers for the "Alteryx solving" portion of the UT Dallas DataThon!  The solving portion is approximately from 9:00 a.m. to early afternoon, where students will build solutions in Alteryx, and prepare for the judging portion later that day.

If you may be able to volunteer for just part of the day and help answer students' questions as they utilize Alteryx, please reach out to Bhumika via email at bpatel@alteryx.com .  It would be great to have you join us at the SparkED event on April 5th and share your expertise with new Alteryx learners!
