After three days of product training, technology and business leader sessions, the Alteryx Inspire 2014 conference in San Diego ended with a perfect keynote.  The closing speaker for Inspire 2014, Charles Wheelan, is a Senior Lecturer & Policy Fellow at Dartmouth College, as well as the Author of the Bestselling Book “Naked Statistics: Stripping the Dread from the Data.”  For those who haven’t read “Naked Statistics: Stripping the Dread from the Data,” Wheelan utilizing the format to make statistics easier to understand by making it more relevant to everyday life or in some cases every day discussions.  People are talking statistics almost every day, and these aren’t even statisticians.

Wheelans keynote focused on how we can utilize data to make people lives better.  He discussed the potential of data analysis going forward and how it can really make a difference in not only people’s lives, but in the world in general.  We can start to use that know of how we solve customers’ problems to solve bigger problems like people’s health, credit scoring, and global poverty.   I think his keynote really exemplifies the course that Alteryx is on when it comes to data and advanced analytics.  It’s not just about making analytics easier for the analysts, but it is also about making a difference.  It has been an amazing three days listening to all of the great things that organizations are using Alteryx for to make their lives easier and their customers lives better.  That is why it is our mission to make data and analytics more accessible and easier for all analysts so we can continue to have an impact on not only the organization’s business and the analysts life, but also continue that to make a difference in the world.
