The second day of Inspire 2014 and the first day Business Leader track was inspiring to say the least. Fantastic keynotes by Alteryx CEO dean Stoecker and Jer Thorp, former Data Artist in Residence at The New York Times and co-founder of The Office for Creative Research, set the tone for the conference focusing not so much on the size of data but more on the value within the data and its applications, be it to improve the bottom-line of a business or improve the lives of the people involved.
The business leader track sessions continued expanding on the theme with fantastic presentations from Deep Root Analytics, Experian, Room & Board, Time Warner Cable Media, BCG, Southern States Cooperative, and Javelin Group. I am capturing some of the noteworthy productivity and margin gains heard during the day:
Time Warner Cable Media: Alteryx helps reduce ad-hoc analysis and report generation time from 6 hours to 5 minutes; helping free up account executives to focus on sales.
Southern States Cooperative: Using Alteryx, the company can not only focus efforts on the customers most likely to respond to a campaign, but also the most profitable ones leading to an average campaign ROI of 200% to 300%.
The Boston Consulting Group: Using analytics from Alteryx, the company has won $10 Million in new business and $300 million in savings for its clients.
Javelin Group: TheU.K. based renowned omnichannel retail advisory firm shared ROI from Alteryx-based projects for its customers Grafton Merchanting and Carpet Right. Productivity gains for the two customers were phenomenal e.g. Grafton Merchanting was able to blend and analyze 30 million customer transactions in 15 seconds with Alteryx, giving it insights it never had before. CarpetRight was able to reduce business report generation time from 9 hours for one month of transactional data to 10 seconds for whole years’ worth of data.
And the Stories didn’t end there. The more customers I talked to, the more I heard in terms of gains, which makes me look forward to sessions in today’s business leader track. So don’t miss out. We have another impressive line-up of cross-industry speakers from Regions Financial Corp., Charles Schwab, Werner Enterprises, Belk, AAA, Crossmark and Kaiser Permanente.
See you today.
