SparkED hosts first Faculty Summer School for over 70 educators

SparkED continued its mission to bring data analytics into college and university classrooms by holding a three-day Faculty Summer School on July 24-26, 2023.

Over 70 educators were trained on Alteryx

Over 70 educators from 55 universities attended the virtual sessions, which included jam-packed days of lessons, practice problems, educator stories, and more. On the final day, participants took the Micro-Credential test, which led to 40 new educators now achieving a micro-credential certification. Many of these educators will continue working towards attaining their Alteryx Core Certification.

Bringing data lessons into classrooms

This first Faculty Summer School has resulted in 31 educators committing to using SparkED’s new Intro to Data Analytics Curriculum this fall. We look forward to hearing back from this group of educators to ascertain how their students progressed in their data analytic studies with this curriculum

Feedback from Summer School participants was very positive, with this statement from Anuradha C. Goel Ghai, from Wilkes University: “Thank you so much! I am contacting our IT folks to get the Alteryx license for our computer lab.” She added, “I appreciated this learning experience.” 

The SparkED team anticipates running more faculty trainings in the future based on this successful kickoff event.
