Welcome to putting geoparquet data onto the interactive map!
If you have found this blog post after reading Getting Your Data Into Location Intelligence, you are in the right place, this is the next step of your journey after learning how to create geoparquet files.
We are going to walk you through how to add geoparquet data to the Alteryx Analytics Platform and visualize it in Location Intelligence with a clear step-by-step guide.
Firstly, head over to your Alteryx Analytics Cloud platform and click on the data tab.

On the data tab, click the Import Data button. You will be presented with a screen where you can drag and drop files. Select your geoparquet files and drop them onto the screen.

Your new files will appear as a list:

Hit continue on the bottom right-hand side.
Then switch to Location Intelligence and click add data, and your new parquet files should be there for you to view. You can do this by clicking the star symbol, which will take you back to your home menu, or the grid on the top left, which will offer a drop-down. Both will get you where you need to be. Select Location Intelligence.

You can create a new project or add them to an existing project. I am going to open my existing project called Location Intelligence!

Once in your project, click Add Data.

You will then be presented with all the layers you have access to within your platform that you can add to the map. Let’s select the world_airports.parquet layer.

It will detect the spatial column.

Click Create, and voila, you have spatial data on the map.

You have successfully added spatial data to Location Intelligence!
The Spatial for All series is putting spatial back to the heart of analytics because everything happens somewhere! To try out Location Intelligence for yourself, sign up for a Free Cloud Trial today.
