Even the freezing cold can't keep my excitement down. We are less than a week away from NRF 2014, the "Retail's Big Show," and I am ready to hear the Big !deas that some of the brightest, most innovative minds in retail are formulating for 2014.

In fact, for the last few months, it has been my pleasure to work closely with one of those bright-minded individuals, Anu Brookins, presenter at one of the upcoming Big !deas sessions at NRF#14 and a master at customer analytics. Anu is vice president of Customer Relationship Management at Belk, and in this role leads a team responsible for customer research, customer analytics and predictive modeling. She also heads up strategic and innovative initiatives like Omni Channel CRM at Belk. For those of you from the west coast or mid-west that aren't familiar with Belk, it is the nation's largest privately owned and operated department store company with over 300 stores in 16 southern states.

Anu Brookins is a huge believer of retail analytics and its impact on Belk's store and e-commerce operations success. During the Alteryx and Belk Big !deas session "Dial up Loyalty and Experience with Multi-channel Analytics," Anu will be sharing some of the key ingredients for rallying a large organization like Belk around analytics from marketing, to merchandising to store operations and corporate strategy. You can expect to hear her talking about:

  • Usage of multi-channel analytics to improve customer spend and align stores and .com metrics
  • Application of geo-demographics to optimize trade area network and store formats
  • Localization of assortments based on trade area customer demographics and much more

So mark your calendars for the Alteryx and Belk Big !deas session on Tuesday, January 14th at 2:30 pm. We will be in Room 3, Level 3 Expo Hall. You don't want to miss it.

Also don't forget to stop by our booth #1139 for a chance to pick up your own copy of a quick start guide on retail analytics 'Cashing in on Analytics in Retail.'
