Analytics UnchainedThe recent release of Alteryx Analytics 9.0 continues to deliver Analytics Unchained - giving organizations the ability to free themselves from legacy solutions. Alteryx Analytics 9.0 added the ability to read and write to the SAS .sas7bdat and IBM/SPSS .sav file formats. The biggest benefit is that data trapped in these legacy tools and formats can now be blended with any other data type in Alteryx, using a modern and intuitive analytics experience that is affordable for every analyst. Many of our customers with a SAS or SPSS infrastructure had grown accustomed to converting these files into different formats to allow them to access the data. Now, with Alteryx Analytics 9.0 they can connect to data in these file types natively, and blend it with data from relational databases, spatial data, data from social media sites in JSON format, and the huge set of other data formats that Alteryx supports – getting more value out of all of their data.

More importantly, it also allows a user to take advantage of the data blending and personal ETL capabilities from Alteryx to create the datasets they need, and then save these new datasets back into an SPSS or SAS environment, save it to their desktop, a database, output it into a visualization tool like Tableau or Qlikview, or continue the analysis process directly in Alteryx. Regardless of whichever route you take, we understand that you can’t replace legacy technology overnight. Organizations have spent a lot of time and money in building and creating models in these technologies, but the capabilities in Alteryx Analytics 9.0 can augment some of the slow processes that may currently be in place, and help you get more value out of data trapped in these legacy file formats.
