We’re now less than two weeks away from the Alteryx Inspire 2014 conference. This will be my third customer conference since joining Alteryx in January of 2012, and I have to be honest that I’m a lot more excited about this one than my first, but that is mostly about it being in San Diego in June, instead of Denver in March! Sunshine and 70 degrees beats snow showers any day.
Taking a little more of a serious look at the conference, this year’s is bigger and better than ever. Last time I checked we had over 550 people registered, and an agenda that rivals any in the industry. Here are my top five reasons I’m excited about Inspire 2014:
- I get to meet the most capable and passionate analysts in the world, many of whom are sharing their experience and best practices. I’m blown away by a list of companies speaking that includes Room & Board, Time Warner Cable, Ingersoll Rand/Trane, McDonald's and Discovery Communications.

- I’ll experience keynotes from two speakers who I have admired for many years – Jer Thorp and Charles Wheelan – both of who represent the analytic thinking that our users apply every single day.
- I have the privilege of talking one-to-one with users and prospective users in meetings and in our solution center. Even better, our CTO, Ned Harding, the entire Product Management team and many of our developers will be there to answer any of the technical or “how-to” questions people may have.
- Our partners will have the opportunity to show off the solutions they bring to the Alteryx platform. This year we have a broader representation of partner types: from data partners like Dun & Bradstreet or DataSift, to technology partners like Tableau and Qlik.
- It’s San Diego. In June.
This conference is all about analytic freedom, specifically for the analysts who use our product and the decision makers they support. Every year I learn more at this conference than at any time during the year, so I’m really excited to see everyone starting June 16th.
