Using AMP engine

Hi guys, I have noticed a weird issue with Alteryx using AMP in workflows. As you can see in the pictures below, I have 2 workflows open. One of them has got AMP enabled and the other one doesn't. This was done by Alteryx itself and I didn't check/uncheck any boxes when I drag dropped the files.

When I run the workflow with the AMP engine enabled, I lose some data but running the workflow without using the AMP engine gives me the desired data. And when I untick the AMP engine, it gives me the desired data. Please not the input files are both the same.

TIA

Hey @danialRaeen, thanks for sharing. I have a few questions:

1) what version are you running?

2) is amp on by default in the system (or user) settings?

3) is it possible to share the input dataset. If not, is it possible to use an anonymous dataset and recreate the issue?

4) what field types and what type of data is in the input file?

I'd love to see if I could recreate the issue and log it as a bug so it could get fixed. Feel free to DM me if you have any concerns with sharing any data in a post. Thanks!!

Thank you for tagging me in @MarqueeCrew , we did not get notified since the AMP Engine label was not used. We will start looking into this, but definitely knowing which Release version you are seeing this with would be helpful - as well as the other questions Jarrod asked above.

Thanks @danialRaeen  for trying out the AMP Engine!

We worked hard to identify differences from the original Engine as well as provide guidance on how to better optimize workflows to run with AMP and we continue to address issues that our customers are finding now that AMP is available. We appreciate your feedback.

Hey @danialRaeen i was able to recreate the smaller size coming out of an excel tool. However, in my example, I didn't lose any data (alteryx just said it was smaller data). Are you experiencing a loss of actual data (rows or values) or just the smaller size labeled on the anchor? note that order of data can change in AMP vs non-AMP runs, but the data may be the same depending on sorts/joins within the process.
