Went a different visualization route and kept each base pairs separated.  When rendered using the layout tool it gives a image like a magic picture.

White base pairs added to force an extra set of white 50 at the bottom so it renders correctly.

  where 1 means "a" and color is dark red, 2 is "c" and orange, 3 is "g" and green and 4 is "t" and dark green
