Predict the winner of the 2023 Masters Tournament! Can you build the best model?
To get started, check out the example workflows that we’re demoing during the “Swing Into Analytical Success with Michelle Wie West” webinar. Then download the data we used and create workflows to build your own model and make predictions. Then submit your workflow and predictions here in the same format as our predictions for a chance to win!
We’ll be accepting new submissions until Wednesday, April 5th at 11:59pm EDT. We will be announcing the winner the following week after the tournament has concluded.
Here’s how submissions will be graded:
- 1 point if a player finishes within 10 positions of their predicted finish
- 2 points if a player finishes within 7 positions of their predicted finish
- 4 points if a player finishes within 3 positions of their predicted finish
- 8 points if a player finishes within 1 position of their predicted finish
- 16 points if a player finishes with exactly their predicted finish
- 16 points for correctly identifying the tournament champion
The submission with the most points based on the final Masters rankings wins! Ties will be broken by whomever has the highest correct prediction, and if no predictions are correct then the highest off-by-1 prediction and so on.
The sample workflows use Alteryx Machine Learning. If you do not have access to that product, you are welcome to use the Predictive Tools, Alteryx Intelligence Suite, Python, or R. Please make sure that your submission includes both your predictions (following the included template) and the workflows you built to create those predictions.
