Mikael's presentation starts at 08:06
Group discussion about how to make Alteryx better starts at 28:07
Hi everyone,
It was a pleasure seeing you for the latest virtual Nordic user group meeting. This time we were hit by several members calling in sick, so we were just four people on the call. We didn't let this hold us back and pressed on with presentation and a lively group discussion - see the video times for these above.
Main takeaways:
1) Alteryx Designer is great at scaling up in performance on high-powered computers. We demonstrated a 100x improvement in compute capacity compared to our current Alteryx Server platform - and 50x cheaper. Yes, you read correctly! Check out the presentation to learn how.
2) We tried imagining a few things that could make Alteryx even better; here's what we came up with:
Better search and replace functionality. Make configuring input tools with database connection react faster. Make Designer crash less often. Improve the interactive chart tool. Make histogram tool (and maybe even all R based tools?) faster. Cheaper Alteryx server product and less restrictions on the compute resources available.
Built-in Designer tool for scheduling workflows to run on local machine Get a lot more Alteryx users. Improve Alteryx server web-interface.
3) great news: we have a volunteer presenter for our next meeting: Daniel Grudlev will discuss his recent experiences with migration of data connections. This is something that can eat up a lot of ressources and maybe he can help us be smarter about it?
Next meeting will be on the 11th of December.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
Until then, enjoy the fall season while working smarter and not harder!
Best regards, Mikael Svalgaard & Johan Kristensen

Last year’s October Takeover was a great success, and we received many fantastic ideas.
Our four finalists were:
Ippei Nakagawa @gawa: Tokyo User Group; Challenge #391: Which Combinations of Pokémon Types Do Not Exist?
Charity Wilson @Charity_K_Wilson: Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas User Group; Challenge 392: Calculate Climate Extremes
Mya Starling @myastarling: Milwaukee User Group; Challenge 393: Find the Best Yarn
Talia Sanders @tsand22: Indianapolis User Group; Challenge 394: Fantasy Football Team
The big winner was @gawa who received 72 responses within the first week of posting his challenge, and over time, it accumulated around 150 responses. Check out his fantastic challenge for some inspiration!
Please contact us at academy@alteryx.com if you have any questions.
We are excited to review the innovative and creative challenges you submit. Let's make this year's Weekly Challenge User Group October Takeover even more fun and successful than the last!
Happy creating!

Wallace starts at 35:00.
Hi everyone,
It was a pleasure seeing you for the last virtual Nordic user group meeting. More faces are starting to show, which is a great thing! Let us make sure to keep up the momentum and be more interactive at the meetings, as this leads to better discussions.
Again, a big thank you to Wallace for bringing knowledge on best practices about alteryx. I sure learned a lot and I hope you guys did as well.
So remember to go through your workflows. A lot can be optimized. You probably have a lot of legacy laying around and it is a good idea to start implementing best practices early.
The topic for next time will be a little more unusual. We will rant about Alteryx. We all love alteryx and the great things it helps up to do. But if we are honest, there are also bits and pieces that are beyond frustrating. Mikael Svalgaard will be our main guy in front when we start ranting about alteryx. Therefore, please bring all the little things that annoys you so we can let alteryx know, what needs to be updated!
Next meeting will be on the 11th of september.
Looking forward to seeing you.
Until then, enjoy the summer!
Best regards, Mikael Svalgaard & Johan Kristensen
