The Chicago Alteryx User Group recently met virtually and we had a special guest speaker – Alteryx ACE Claire McDonough! Claire was gracious enough to spend time with us to share her journey about how she became an Alteryx ACE over the last few years, highlighting some of the key milestones she achieved along the way. She also shared some best practices around optimizing workflows such as generalizability and automation. I thought her point about ensuring generalizability was especially useful especially as we think about sharing workflows with other colleagues. We then had some time for questions during the latter part of the talk which was a highly engaging time of Q&A. All in all, it was an informative, inspirational, and insightful talk that provided some practical tips for those looking to elevate their Alteryx skills and advance their career in data analytics.
Thanks to everyone who attended. If anyone has feedback, ideas, or topics they would like to cover for our next meeting, let us know!

With busy time and holiday traveling for a lot of people, we decided to keep it simple and have a coffee meetup as a way to stay connected! David Kwon was gracious enough to host our small group at Aon's newly established coffee lounge.
While we did not have any planned topics or discussions, we ran out of time discussing some advanced use cases, troubleshooting issues in Designer, and talking about the 2024 Advent of Code event that some of the folks are participating in.
We wrapped up shortly after 3pm and some people went to watch Chicago PD being filmed outside the building!
Thanks to everyone who attended. If anyone has feedback, ideas, or topics they would like to cover for our next meeting, let us know!

Hi everyone - our last event was a great time, thanks to all who joined! Our next one will be an informal coffee get together on Wednesday, December 4th from 1-3pm at the Aon Center in the new Intelligentsia Coffee Lounge (3rd floor). Coffee will be provided for free (from 1-2pm). Register today to save your spot, as space is limited to 30 people.
To access the building, please provide your name and ID to one of the two front desks at Aon Center (200 E Randolph St) and they will give you a day pass. There is a front desk in the south-facing lobby and another in the north-facing entrance. Then after swiping in, take the elevators from the ground floor up to the 3rd floor and walk to the East wing which is where the coffee lounge is (there are also 2 receptionists there).
We hope you can attend,
Chicago User Group Leaders
