This blog post is from guest poster Ross Perez of Tableau.

We couldn’t be more happy to have Alteryx as the Diamond Sponsor at the 2013 Tableau Customer Conference . The conference provides a unique opportunity for Alteryx customers to hear how others have made use of Tableau’s straightforward business intelligence and reporting tools. In the same way, Tableau customers will be able to learn how Alteryx can make data management, blending and ETL available to everyone.

Tableau and Alteryx both stand on their own but our common customers have shown there is a significant additional benefit to using the two tools together.

This year, there will be three Alteryx/Tableau customers that will be sharing their success at the conference. Bill Engel, Chairman of Consumer Orbit will discuss how they use Alteryx with their customers to combine dozens of disparate databases together, and then create interactive, up-datable dashboards with that data in Tableau. Ed Farrell and Michelle Leonard from Consumer Reports will speak about how they use Alteryx to simplify complex survey data and then visualize it within Tableau. Matt James of Redbox will talk about how Redbox intelligently plans its kiosk locations by blending data from their network of over 42,000 kiosks with rich third-party datasets.

All of these customers have Alteryx and Tableau in common because they needed a better way to get insight from their data. Their businesses demanded the ability to look into multiple, even dozens, of different databases at the same time and display that information in a coherent manner. It’s not that other tools can’t combine databases, or display information in a dashboard. The defining characteristic of both Alteryx and Tableau is that they are tools that anyone can use, and use quickly. The common theme you will hear in Bill, Ed, Michelle and Matt’s sessions is that Alteryx and Tableau allowed them to achieve things quicker and easier than they had thought possible in the past.

The Customer Conference is in a week and a half, but there are still a small number of spots left if you have an interest in learning about a new approach to data management and business intelligence. In addition to the three fantastic Alteryx customers above, you’ll have the chance to see keynotes from statistics guru Nate Silver, Steve Jobs biographer Walter Isaacson, and hundreds of sessions devoted to giving you the tools you need to get the most out of your data. Still not convinced? Watch the video below to learn why others attended last year. We hope to see you there!
