Server API Calls from SaaS App

We are new to Alteyrx Server and have a use case in which one of our SaaS applications makes an API call to the Server to trigger a workflow. The issue is that the Server is located behind our DMZ and IT does not usually allow external inbound traffic straight to an internal resource. Does anyone have any experience with such a scenario? I am contemplating using an API gateway (webmethods) to be an intermediary between the Server and the SaaS app, but I have never tried it. Also wondering if separating the Gallery component and putting it in the DMZ would work.
