Connecting a Windows 7 Designer to a Windows 10 Controller

In our workgroup, I am attempting to set up a workstation that is used to schedule workflows. It is running Windows 10. I have the Designer and Scheduler licenses installed on version 2018.1. My intent is to allow other users with Designer licenses to schedule and run workflows on this workstation. After installing the latest version of Alteryx (2018.1) on the Windows 7 client machine and attempting to connect to the controller on the workstation to schedule a workflow, the following error appears:

This method worked perfectly when the controller machine was also Windows 7. Are they simply not cross compatible?

@babegeman - that set up should work. So long as you can ping the controller machine from the worker, and the service is running on the controller, you should be able to connect. If those are both configured properly, feel free to reach out to support@alteryx.com and we troubleshoot further.
