Alteryx Server Python Error

Jérémie

Hello everyone,

I'm using Alteryx server since a few days. I've tried a workflow with a Python Tool, and got the following error when trying to save it to the server gallery (see attached). Also, this workflow works fine when I run it on my PC.

Would you have any idea how to solve this problem ?

Best regards,

Jérémie

Hi Jérémie,

Thank you for posting.

What is your version of Alteryx Server? Do you have the same version of Designer on your desktop?

Are you able to successfully run the workflow in Designer, on the server?

Do you face this error with any workflow with a Python tool or just this specific one?

What kind of data do your read from input #1?

Thanks,

PaulN

Hello PaulN,

Thanks a lot for your quick answer!

Here are the informations you asked:

What is your version of Alteryx Server?

  • Client: 2020.1.0
  • Server: 2020.2.2.27029
  • Server Binaries: 2020.2.2.27029
  • Service Layer - Master: 2020.2.2.27029

Do you have the same version of Designer on your desktop?

  • Alteryx Admin Designer Version: 2019.4.8.22007

Are you able to successfully run the workflow in Designer, on the server?

  • The workflow works well on Designer
  • I wasn't able to run it on the server (See error description attached)

Do you face this error with any workflow with a Python tool or just this specific one?

  • I've tried this morning with another workflow that use the Python tool (with a different script)
  • It still works on Designer
  • It doesn't work on the Server, though the error description is a bit different (see attached "Alteryx Server Python Error 2")

What kind of data do your read from input #1?

  • there are no Input Tool directly connected to the Python Tool
  • I've exported for both workflow the MetaData related to the Python Tool Input (See attached)

Thanks a lot for your time PaulN! 🙂

Kind regards,

Jérémie

Hi @Jérémie,

Thank you for the details.

Do you use the same account when you run the workflow from Gallery and in Designer run locally on the server. Does the account have enough permissions on Alteryx engine temporary folder?

I might be easier to go on a call to solve your current challenge. I would suggest to contact support@alteryx.com with a reference to this thread.

Thanks,

PaulN

Hello @PaulNo!

Got busy last weeks, couldn't answer you earlier!

I indeed use the same account.

I still don't know where the error come from, but it happens that the error doesn't stop the Workflow from running, which is a good news!

Thanks again for your help, and I'll contact the support as soon as I can!

Kind regards,

Jérémie
