Render tables with mismatching columns to same sheet

I am trying to render two tables with mismatching columns vertically on top of one another. However, when I try rendering to an Excel file, Alteryx will merge columns in the second table to make the second table's width equal that of the first table. This makes the display for my second, much shorter table look odd compared to the first table.

 

Is there a solution for this in Alteryx that will let me individually specify the width of each table in the Excel file?

Convincing the Layout and Render tools to do what you want can sometimes take a bit of persuading!

 

What I normally do is to put something like a Text object with blank spaces left and right of my smaller table to stop it from being stretched across the page width. 

 

With a Text tool, you can set it to place text left or right of an existing Table object, as shown below:
