Alteryx Designer slowing down to a 200 columns txt file

Hi Alteryx community,

I'm having a hard time trying to read a txt with 200 columns with only 2 rows of data. Everytime I insert a new tool or try to preview the data, Alteryx stops working. 

Is there any workaround or any configuration to reduce this process slowlyness?

It's not the most pleasant way to work in Alteryx, but there is an option in Options->User Settings->Edit User Settings->Advanced called "Disable auto configure" which can help with reducing the number of times you encounter this hangup.

What checking this off does is make it so that Alteryx does not update connection information unless prompted to manually by pressing the F5 key.  This will allow you to add multiple tools quickly, and then manually refresh connection information once, which should save you a lot of time setting things up.

Unfortunately, besides that I don't have any direct recommendations.
