I go to File -> Manage Connections -> Synchronize -> Select Server Site-> Click Synchronize and receive error at the bottom that says "Subobject does not exist." and the synchronize does not occur.
Designer Version: 2023.2.1.194
Server Version: Unclear on exact version but it is 2023.2
When logged in as a service account on PC (which also has a server account with connections shared to), I get the error. On this same machine when logged in as myself I can sync successfully(perhaps something in user settings?). One other colleague gets the error as well, while another doesn't. All but 1 connection are Tableau Output Advanced Authentication credentials(access tokens). The same credentials can be set up and used manually in designer. We just are unable to sync.
Thanks for any input.
@FFFool2 I think this may be a good candidate to report through Mission Control (my.alteryx.com) to ensure Customer Support is aware and can provide insight into resolution. The case submission process will also search the Knowledge Base in case there is a known solution!
I too have this issue, using various kinds of connections (SQL Server, postgresql, etc.). I created an Alteryx Support ticket which is in progress. I'll subscribe to this post so we can share resolution.
I was able to solve this problem with support's help, but it does seem it is an Alteryx issue, not something we could tie back to a specific user action and not something a user can fix themselves. Essentially, there were old connections that no longer existed in the server UI that would show up when trying to sync. Those connections had to be manually manipulated in the underlying database to get a successful sync. If you are not already, I would ask to have your case forwarded to Mitesh Narottam at Alteryx. Get him along with your server admin into a meeting and he can guide the server admin through the steps necessary to get it fixed.
