Hi Community ,

I am trying to look around article or discussion on how to import pdf file into Alteryx and how to make it become readable in Alteryx.

May I know if anyone could share the link on how to perform the above steps or could you explain briefly on what we need to do when deal with pdf as I don’t have any clue at all about importing PDF into the Alteryx .

Hi @SH_94,

In the "Text Mining" category from the new Intelligence Suite, there is a "PDF Input" tool. Here is the documentation : https://help.alteryx.com/current/designer/pdf-input

Also, you can retrieve an example from this post : https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Discussions/Intel-Suite-How-to-use-PDF-Input-tool/...

Hi @SH_94

Since not every one has paid for the new Intelligence Suite license, I would also suggest this PDF Input tool from The Information Lab.  It's free and does a very good job of extracting any text from a pdf while preserving column and list formatting as much as possible.  There a video on how to use it as well.  You also need to install an additional R package.  Read the comment from @VincentT in this post to learn about the Install R Packages tool

Hi @danilang ,

Thank you so much for the great input.

May I know what is the main difference between the one with intelligence suite license and PDF input tool ?
