Dividing Specific Variable Cell by Fixed Cell

I have attached an excel file that shows what I want to do in Alteryx.  For example, for cell F2, I get that result by using the following equation =C2/$B$31.  I would need both new columns created "Send Metric" and "Receive Metric" by using the formulas shown in excel.  The input data may vary a little for each excel input file I use, but the format would usually remain the same and contain a lot of the same Categories as shown in Column A.

Hi @macst245

You could isolate the 'Total' row and append it back for each record. From there it should be easy to do the calculation.

Thanks for this; I'm sorry if this seems simple but I'm very new to Alteryx still.  How would I then divide the numbers in Directly Sent (Column 3) from the Total Indirectly Sent Column?  Also, is there a way to then clean this up and move the Total column back to a new row like in the original excel file?  If not, no worries, but I want to see if I can make this as clean as possible.

Thanks again!

Hi @macst245

Yes, you would use a formula tool to do the division. For the second point, instead of connecting the T output anchor of the filter to the T anchor on the append fields tool, just connect the input directly to the append fields and the total row will stay. Give it a go and let us know if you have any issues.

I'd highly suggest reviewing the 'Getting Started' learning path in the academy.
