The error you're encountering, "Internal error: failed to read port assignment," suggests that there might be an issue with the configuration or setup of the Box connector tool in Alteryx Designer on your system. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Update Alteryx Designer and Box Connector: Ensure that you are using the latest version of both Alteryx Designer and the Box connector. Check for updates on the Alteryx website or within the software itself.

  2. Check Box Connector Configuration: Verify that your Box connector is properly configured. Double-check the authentication settings, access tokens, and any other parameters required for the Box tool. Make sure that your Box account and API credentials are valid.

  3. Reinstall Box Connector: Uninstall the Box connector and then reinstall it. This can sometimes resolve issues related to corrupted installations.

  4. Check System Permissions: Ensure that your user account has the necessary permissions to access the Box API and other required resources. Sometimes, issues can arise if there are restrictions on your system.

  5. Firewall and Antivirus: Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the connection to Box. Temporarily disable these tools and see if the issue persists.

  6. Network Connection: Ensure that your network connection is stable and not experiencing interruptions. A poor or unstable network connection can cause issues with data transfer.

  7. Log Files: Check the Alteryx Designer logs for more detailed error messages. Look for any specific error codes or messages that might provide more insight into the root cause of the issue.

  8. Contact Alteryx Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Alteryx support. They can provide more targeted assistance based on the specific details of your setup and any additional log information.

  9. Compare Configurations: If the Box connector is working on other systems, compare the configurations between those systems and yours. Look for any differences in settings that might be causing the issue.

  10. Proxy Settings: If you are behind a corporate firewall or proxy, ensure that your proxy settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, proxy configurations can impact the communication between Alteryx Designer and external services.

By systematically going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue.
