Alteryx App

Hello everyone,

I faced an issue with alteryx app, I save the workflow as package and share it with team and all of them find error message shown : (the entry point is invalid). I'm assuming the issue with macro not included with the package, once one of the team remind me the first package I sent working fine, and no issue with it. What the solution for that? and what causes?

If you will go to Options>Export WorkFlow Alteryx will create a zip file containing all the supporting files and macros connected to the workflow.

I got what you mean, I did that already. But there's anyway to share the analytic app only without the package and run? , that issue appear when he tries to run Analytic App.

Maybe before zipping it mark all the paths as relative and then it will refer to the path of the extracted files.

The best way is to have a Gallery, where the workflows are saved and then based on giving access to the guys can run the automation form the Gallery and does not need to have it on their machines.

Thank you for your solution you provide, I want to make sure your answer mean my colleague couldn't run the analytic app alone "Mean just download the analytic app I provide it" without package first. We plane to allow all colleagues who doesn't have Alteryx app using the analytic app instead.

If you want to to get all the employees to use the app you will need to have a Gallery, which is actually a server where the automation is saved and connected to online user interface from there they could run the WF without the need to have Alteryx designer on their computers.

Anyone that will have access to the Gallery will be able to run the automation.

If you have Macros you will have to mark them as Assets when saving the automation to the Gallery, that will ensure that the Macro will be copied over to the server and will be available for all users.
