Hi all,
I recently installed Outlook 365 Input tool in Alteryx designer. I have the latest Alteryx Designer installed in my laptop. After the installation I could only one option in the configuration window which is 'Connect using Data Connection Manager'. I don't see the option 'Connect Manually' which enables to 'Sign in via internet browser' or Connect through own Microsoft App'.
The one which I installed is Outlook365_py3.10_v1.2.2.yxi downloaded from Alteryx market place.
Kindly help me how to connect to office outlook and also to enable the second option.
Thanks & Best regards,
STJ.
Hello @stj1120
I believe you can change this from the user settings.
Previously DCM was just an potion but now by defualt it is set to only allow DCM. If you go to user settings:
The make sure to override the DCM settings to optional:
You should see the old options reapear. (This will allow non DCM connections for many tools, not just the sharepoint and outlook tools).
Hope this helps fix your issue. Please let me know how you get on.

Hi @Pilsner ,
Thank you for helping in this.
I followed your steps but, I don't see the second option like you see in the below screenshot.
I'm wondering how come this option is being showed to other people and not for me in my alteryx designer.
Please check and help.
Thanks & Best Regards,

Hello @stj1120
Great question. I think the answer is simply based on the tool in use.
In my example, I used the SharePoint Input tool, not the Outlook 365 Input tool. If I drag the Outlook tool onto the canvas, I see the same two options as you.
My apologies for the confusion there!
I hope this makes sense and still achieves the result you were after but please let me know if not.

Hi @Pilsner
The issue is I don't see the circled portion of the second option in the configuration window of the Outlook 365 Input tool.
The screenshot that I mentioned in the earlier post was taken from the Youtube video.
My question is why the second option is not showing up for me when it is shown on your Alteryx.
Kindly check and tell me the necessary options to be enabled for showing up the second option.
Thanks and regards,
stj
Hello @stj1120
Thanks for clarifying, that makes sense.
Other than the steps outlined in my original post, I'm not really sure what to suggest. I have attempted to replicate your issue, but the only settings I can find that affect those options are the Override DCM settings, DCM mode and SDK Access Mode. You could try changing the SDK Access mode to "AllowAll" (instead of just "Allow"), whilst still leaving the DCM mode as "DCM Optional", then hitting save. This is unlikely to make a difference, but is still worth a try.
Outside of the above, there is always a chance that something went wrong during the installation. You could uninstall the Outlook tools and redownload/ install them from the marketplace, opting for a different version as long as it still claims to be compatible with your designer desktop version.
If I find any other potential solutions, I'll make sure to share. Equally, if you do get the problem solved via a different method, I would be interested to hear how.
