ALTERYX ACADEMY SUMMER CAMP_1042x250.png

It’s officially June, and for many of us that means that things are heating up! Chances are your kids are likely going to be staying home instead of going to camp this summer (which means even more quality time with them). Because we know that sometimes you just need a break, we’ve decided to bring summer camp to you with Alteryx Academy Summer Camp!

With such a large number of new community members joining every day, many of them a part of the Alteryx ADAPT Program, we decided what better time than now for some educational events (it’ll be just like camp, but instead of learning how to carve soap animals you’re going to learn all things Alteryx). We know that these sessions will be incredibly helpful for all of you new Alteryx users, but we welcome everyone in the community to join for what is guaranteed to be insightful and educational.

The training sessions will be held Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 19 and will consist of two tracks. The first session each day will be held at 8AM PT, and will be led by a member of the Alteryx Sales Engineering team. The second session of the day will be held at 10AM PT and will be led by one of our Alteryx ACEs. The sessions will build off of each other throughout the week, so sign up now!

ABCs of Reading an Alteryx Workflow

Monday June 8th at 10am PDT

  • Nicole Johnson @NicoleJohnson, Sr. Consultant, Business Solutions, T-Mobile

With so much focus on the incredible things you can do to BUILD an Alteryx workflow, we sometimes forget that non-Designers frequently need to be able to READ your workflows too, potentially with little to no experience in the platform. Whether you are someone who is designing a workflow that needs to be easy-to-understand, or you are the person who is occasionally baffled on how to approach someone else's work, this session will provide tips & tricks for how to build, document, explain, and understand workflows, wherever they might come from!

Consolidating Your CRM System with Alteryx

Tuesday June 9th at 10am PDT

  • Ben Moss @BenMoss, Consulting Analyst, The Information Lab

In this session, Ben will build on todays subject of cleaning messy data by showing you the art of the possible with the Fuzzy Match tool, which can be used to identify non-identical duplicate records within a dataset.

If you wish to get hands-on and follow along with the example Ben will be demonstrating, then you can download the session files from til.bi/ADAPT-FUZZY

Feeding The Nation: Retail Response To Coronavirus - Protecting The Most Vulnerable

Wednesday June 10th at 10am PDT

The UK Government has identified over a million people in England who have conditions that make them extremely vulnerable to coronavirus (COVID-19) and have advised them to self-isolate for 12 weeks to protect themselves. We have been working closely with the government agencies of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for the last couple of weeks to understand how to ensure essentials reach those with no support network. We've offered them first access to delivery slots, ensuring they get what they need while they stay safe at home. We've used Alteryx to match government data to our internal records using a waterfall matching approach across different combinations of identifiable fields. We've also used fuzzy matching to overcome data quality problems and make sure every vulnerable customer is identified and can receive our support. For those who are currently not our customers, we've leveraged postcode API to confirm service availability. All these developments happened in a matter of hours, delivered by a cross functional team working virtually in a true agile spirit.

He will talk about how you can improve your data skills by using Alteryx to improve your daily routine by demonstrating some cool workflows. As well as explaining why improving your Alteryx skills as well as striving for certifications is a great asset to your career and give you some last minute tips to help you ACE the exam.

About the ADAPT Program

Advancing Data Analytics Potential Together (ADAPT) is designed to put the power of data analytics, and Alteryx, into the hands of people who have been impacted by the economic and unemployment conditions created by COVID-19. The ADAPT program expands on our commitment to community – this time, by helping people who may be new to data analytics or who may no longer have access to Alteryx build the valuable skills employers are looking for.

Help us spread the word and invite people in your family, your professional networks and your local communities whose employment has been impacted to register for ADAPT.
