It appears that the concatenation to make the coupon code in the answer is different from the instructions.  It uses RecordID twice, instead of RowCount.

I added the starting framework of the automated email.

Agree.  Looks like the formula provided and solution file differ!

Done, with a little confusion. I think the output provided in the solution has duplicated values for RecrodID inside the coupon code formula, vs RecordID and RowCount as stated in the formula. 

Great use of generate rows tool and reporting tools!
