Really enjoyed this one, having lived in Japan for several years. I made a couple of tweaks, including a validity test on the Wareki date to ensure it was valid. For example, S010131 would not be valid (Showa started in December of 1925), neither would H251231, since Heisei only lasted 20 years.

I also made some changes to the Era Definitions, changing the dates to date format and adding a column for start year. It didn't make sense to keep the original file and make the same changes to it every time the macros were called. I included the workflow to make the that created the modified data set in the package.
