Our third session in the Vacation Proofing Your Workflows series is happening on February 15th at 8 AM PT. The webinar will be hosted by @MeganBowers, and our guests are ACEs @cplewis90 and @DawnDuong, along with ACE Emeritus @Samantha_Jayne. This time, we are discussing workflow inputs and outputs!
You can RSVP for the event here.
What questions do you have about designing inputs and outputs for your Alteryx workflows? Reply below to make sure your question gets answered in the webinar.
Here is the recording for anyone who wasn't able to attend! I will post links to resources in this thread later this week. 🏖
As promised, here are some resources for further learning from the session:
Inputting data: our new Connecting to Data Guide contains lots of content about topics covered in this webinar such as: Dynamic Inputs, Alteryx Data Connection Manager (DCM), and using macros to input data.
Outputting data: check out @Samantha_Jayne's blog on bulk uploading data in Snowflake. @DawnDuong mentioned optimizing your outputs by leveraging .yxdb files—you can learn more about that file format in this help article. And if you want to understand more about @cplewis90's tip for using post SQL statements, you can read more here: Alteryx Pre/Post SQL Statements.
Governance: Our speakers chatted a lot about governance throughout the webinar. Here’s a great blog to follow up and learn more: Alteryx Workflow Governance: What Are Your Best Practices?
Handling input data changes/error proofing: A good tip here was to enable email events for workflow failures. And if you want, you can have the emails go to your Microsoft Teams channel!
Making workflows dynamic: Dawn highlighted two great videos for this topic--Making Dynamic Workflows and Dynamic Inputs.
