Should main SSL cert be used for X509 certificate in server?

I would think that since the SSL certificate is an X509 certificate, it would be placed in System Settings->Gallery->Authentication->X509 Certificate.  I am having some issues with authentication and am trying to knock out what is correct.

Could you please elaborate more on the error you are having? Are you trying to use SAML as your authentication method or are you trying to install the SSL certificate for the server URL?

I believe that SSL cert is correctly placed in System Settings->Gallery->Authentication->X509 Certificate.  The gallery comes up, but there is  an error on sign in.  Seems to be an SSO issue at this point.  Outside of Alteryx.

SSL cert was placed in System Settings->Gallery->Authentication->X509 Certificate.  I believe we are at the point of a permission issue with SSO.  Was trying to troubleshoot several blockers along the way and until Friday, could not use URL to get to sign in page for server.  Currently landing at Gallery, but errors out on sign in.  

Are you trying to use SAML as your authentication method: Yes. Waiting on internal ticket to address current blocker.

Also install the SSL certificate for the server URL.  SSL cert has been loaded and bound to server.  URL lands correctly.
