Multiple field lookup

How do you lookup multiple fields and return a value? My files have thousands of rows. I tried join but it's not what I wanted. I'm just trying to

Lookup Name and Date and return appropriate FTE%.

Current File:

NameDateFTE%
John Doe2019-01-02100
John Doe2019-01-03100
John Doe2019-01-04100

Lookup file:

NameDateFTE%
John Doe 2019-01-0236
John Doe 2019-01-0380

Result File:

NameDateFTE%
John Doe2019-01-0236
John Doe2019-01-0380
John Doe2019-01-04100

Hi,

You can use a join tool and join the lookup and current file based on your different criteria(name and date in this case)

The join output will give you ones with a match, while the left will give the rest.

Cheers!

Join should work for this, you'll just have to set it up correctly. See my attached workflow.

I joined by date and name, but then deselected the LEFT side while keeping the RIGHT without Renamed Fields

Add a Union to catch the unjoined left records and you can replicate your output.

Thank you! I will try this and let you know.
