how to check the original source for yxdb file

I am quite new to the yxdb file and would like to ask the following questions:

1. How to save the file as yxdb file?

2. How can we check or know the original source file for the yxdb file?

3. Can we amend anything ,like build workflow in the yxdb file ?

.yxdb file is data file similar to excel. The advantage is it's much faster with Alteryx.

1. How to save the file as yxdb file?

While using the output tool to output file you can select yxdb as highlighted below

2. How can we check or know the original source file for the yxdb file?

yxdb file is a standalone file by itself it doesn't have a dependency file. You will be able identity it as yxdb file by seeing extension and file type.

3. Can we amend anything ,like build workflow in the yxdb file ?

You can use input tool and read .yxdb like a normal excel.

For this question, what i actually want to ask is which excel or another (source file) file being saved and render as yxdb file.Can we trace inside the yxdb file?

Hi @SH_94 

.yxdb itself is the standalone data file there is no excel or any other file behind it. How excel is the file on its own yxdb is a similar file type.

If you have any more confusion or a reason to think yxdb is a render version of another file let me know.
