Writing to a sharepoint site.

While writing my workflow output to a sharepoint site, does it have to be a list ?

When i use the Sharepoint output, it throws an error saying 'The list may not be blank"

Is there another way to output the the to a folder in the site ?

There are two output tools as far as sharepoint is concerned. Sharepoint list output and sharepoint file output. Double check you are using the correct one
